Not all, but a good majority of people are incapable of figuring anything out for themselves. Most people I talk to about Bitcoin are generally interested and want to get started. But when they realize they'll actually have to read things and research for themselves, they won't go any further.
Just the other day a guy asked me why everyone keeps calling it Covid-1984. I told him to Google 1984 and read it. He immediately dismissed that idea, because he'd have to read, and still had the attitude that cool kids don't read: He is 40 years old. It's sad that people go through their lives without taking the responsibility to gain knowledge on their own, and probably why we're in this situation with society today.
