This story is based on my personal experience and that's how I started to know that the world was really not between black and white, which was clearly black is black, white is white, but there was a faint gray color visible from both of them and we know that. It was around 2005 when I decided to choose my study after graduating from high school. Becoming a health practitioner was my dream at that time and also the dream of everyone who graduated from high school. So starting from the final high school grade, I have prepared it. Starting to learn to recognize a series of entrance tests and what to prepare, and my family is also very supportive, even the costs have been prepared. I was one of the students who performed well in school, when the test to enter a health practitioner school was not a challenge that was so difficult for me because I had good prepared for everything. My best friend also enrolled in the same academy. The time to announce the passing of the test has arrived. My name was not listed on the announcement board, I was definitely disappointed because I was very sure that I had done the test questions well, but somehow I had to accept them. A few days later, I got a call to appear the administration department of the new admissions, there I understood what really happened. Incidentally, the administration department is someone I know well, he told me that I actually passed the test, but could still enter the department I wanted on the condition that I pay a certain amount of money for the seat position. The money is a very large amount for me and my family. I feel like rebelling but what can I do?🤷 Crying, sad as if all dreams and ideals have to give up just because of money. Finally I decided not to take the position, and I began to move on from it all. I was on vacuum for 1 year to discontinue college. My friend actually did not pass the test, but she told me that the school contacted her parents to come, offering another alternative to still be able to enter the health study program, of course with some money. My friend agreed to these conditions and finally was able to become one of the students at the health academy. That was the first time I knew about buying and selling to get a place in the world of education. A year passed, I buried all my dreams because the many health academies I wanted to study there all left the same story. Money for the powerful.
This is not an open secret anymore today, especially for strategic positions in the education world which have ties to employment agencies. Such as the police academy, naval academy, medical academy, top grade favorite schools, etc. If someone wants to study there, they must prepare a kind of facilitation money to be able to study at the academy. It's no longer about a person's intelligence that is the basis for measuring passing tests, but how thick your wallet is to get there. The stamp of intelligence is only at the beginning, then money is at play. That is the education system in my country until now. And it really happened, everyone knows and that's allowed, even though the law says it is a criminal act.

Moved on from failing to enter the health study program, I was accepted as an Informatics technology student for the Diploma program. The second year as an Informatics technology student gave me the opportunity to training at one of the government institution, namely the Tax Office for 3 months. Really, this is an experience that opens the veil of how things that are just rumors out there about government work. Real I can see with my own eyes. I saw how they worked and how the tax money was circulating there. Come in the morning to be absent, sit at the computer, sometimes just busy with their computers to go online, see pornographic movies, and just walk around somewhere, and come home. The employees only look busy working when their leader is there. Female employees are more often in the market shopping even though they are still working hours. I worked with them for 3 months and it's enough to see a sad picture of the portrait of government workers. During the final monthly meeting for reporting tax returns, I helped them to prepare draft materials for the meeting, after the meeting was over there was something unusual, the distribution of envelopes containing money, I also got it, a large amount for me at that time. It happens after every monthly meeting. And in our country the Taxation Service is known for its tax levies, high levels of corruption with billions dollars.

I began to understand how life works, there is no life except for the powerful and rich. Increasing age and passing days teach it all. Time flies .. I am not the health practitioner of my dreams. After dropping out of where I studied Informatics technology in my final year due to college fees, I decided to start looking for job. I was accepted to work at the largest telecommunications distributor in Indonesia, as an apprentice in charge of SIM card and top up vouchers distribution. Every item that comes in is listed and distributed to hundreds of small distributors then to retailers. I thought it would work normally, but I was wrong. Managers and employees in high positions play here. How do they fix prices hand-to-hand to small distributors for certain card numbers and how do they suppress the distribution of top up vouchers for a certain nominal so that goods are lost in the market and prices rise. Whereas according to the procedure of the head office it is forbidden to do, but once again the system is only system and the people who play a role. Two years working with the company I finally re-signed.

After 3 months of re-signing from a telecommunication company, finally I was accepted by the largest furniture and electronics sales company in Indonesia from Europe, which has hundreds of outlets throughout Indonesia. Working there is a dream for many people, a large salary and good facilities and the welfare of employees is considered. This is the second time I have applied for a job there and I am finally accepted into the Warehouse administration position. I enjoy every job I do and I am always dedicated to what I have to do. Meeting and making friends with various circles across stores throughout Indonesia is a fun thing, there is a time for gathering, assistance to various regions to provide new experiences for me. Warehouse activities are very dense because the arrival of goods every day plus loading deliveries to customers makes me often overtime until the night, sometimes in a week I can't take holiday, but I enjoy all of that. Being there is an unforgettable experience. There are activities that are actually prohibited things from our superiors, such as supervisors, managers about defective items. In the flow, defective or damaged items should be returned to the warehouse, recorded and then sold in the damaged goods showroom or defective but fit for use items, displayed with complete information. These items are still fit for use, but the price will fall due to several reasons. There the supervisors play a role, they manipulate the defective item until the price actually falls, then they will contact the damaged showroom supervisor not to sell the item and buy it by themselves at a low price. Then the item is off from list but remains in the outlet showroom and is sold at a high price. The profits from the sale will go into their pockets. Not only the superiors but almost all of the subordinates play there to manipulate defective items. As an apprentice employee who can be fired at any time can only witness the practice that has been going on there for years. The company I work for is very loyal to customers, so that the slightest damaged goods will be replaced immediately and that also often becomes a field for individuals to manipulate company reports. It didn't last long since I worked there for 2 years, the company was in collab and many employees were laid off, including me. Up to 1.5 years since the layoff period, I heard that the company I worked for had finally stopped operating after 15 years of being the 1st position in Indonesia.
I'm sure wherever we are, it will be always pestle there are black sheep there, taking advantage of an opportunity for an big opportunity, enriching themselves, gaining power even if it betrays conscience. Then, the system or the wrong person? The system was created to facilitate human work, making it structured and neat. But in a series of systems, there will always be people who use it for a specific purpose and betray the system itself. So that, the system is only the system that is listed on a piece of paper, which actually happens is a violation of the system itself. The bureaucracy in government is a real example and everyone turns a blind eye to it. How does extortion work only for dime matters such as processing documents, state aid for the poor, which the unscrupulous cuttings before reaching those in need. We as civil society can only bow in submission by clearly wrong rules without being able to do anything. The corruption of the system is ingrained wherever the system works and everyone nods to it, when one disagrees and wants to change it back to the correct system, it will immediately be eliminated in various ways by the opposing group. Humans have a conscience that guides them into right actions. But sometimes, lust is more powerful and eventually the conscience dies to return to the right system.
Technology is getting more advanced, everything looks transparent. Race against time to complete an affair instantly. Weak systems will be eroded by advances in technology, humans create systems and also those who create technology, will they still look for loopholes to take advantage of technology for their ambitions? I am sure that in various epochs there will always be black sheep who take the opportunity when the opportunity arises. But a person who clings to a truth will have 1000 powers that compel them to speak up against the enslaving systems.
