Its my last post of the year, and no need to say what a year it has been! Both on and off Hive things have shifted and changed in ways i would never have imagined just 12 short months ago. Despite ALL that has happened this year, it feels like it has blown by oh so fast! Corona virus changed everyone’s lives, and for me it was the biggest shift that could have imagined.. I don’t think i would have chosen this path.. or starting life again in a new place with no possession or money.. but that is what fate had in store for me. Now after 7 months i sit in a new home, with completely new possessions, at the beginning of what may be the most exciting project I have yet undertaken... ecoVillages!
I haven’t written an ecoVillage update in a couple of weeks, but something is always happening. The flow continues, and i keep getting more confirmations that this really is the right plan, in the right place, at the right time, with the right people, and most importantly with the total support of the local officials and bureaucracy. Im am now a resident of Portugal, and have my rights and privileges of being a European person secured from the UK Brexit shift. That shift has been one of the longest and most unsightly processes that i have ever witnesses in UK politics. Now at the end of this those who live in the UK stand to lose to many rights and freedoms, protections and connections. Fortunately Portugal welcome us with open arms.. whoever we are.
So to all of you, my Hive brothers and sisters.. you are are so special to me! We are a group with heart and soul and our eyes wide open.. Its always such a pleasure to post here and see people understand and connect on so many things! My old circles on Facebook are getting ever smaller, and less relevant.. The gap between us and them is widening.. and the polarity between those who thing differently and those who trust and believe what they are told by the mainstream media is growing. It is hard to even post anything on Facebook any more.. it almost not even worth the time anymore.. They DONT want to know, and they judge us for thinking freely. I wish them well, but here is my online family, on Hive.
Id like to thank a few people for so many things. Those of you who read and curate the ecoTrain community, THANK you! Your up-votes to others posts make our community thrive, and brings attention to so many topics that we hold dear. Our message of sustainable and off grid living has never been more important! A very special shout out to @acidyo and the community incubation project of course.. I hope by now they need no introduction! In a nut shell, they and their supporters are giving you all AMAZING up-votes every day.. and with my help their votes go to the right posts every time.. well more or less!
I don’t usually like making personal thank you messages because i always forget important people.. so you know who you are.. i love you . im so glad you are here. Together let us make this world a better place!
Let us see what 2021 brings! For me, I hope that we start building and potentially finished our first Earthship here in Portugal. If we succeed it will open the door to dozens if not hundreds of new builds just in this area. It we succeed we will be able to really help people make the shift from dependency to real security and a luxurious off grid life! Nothing would make me happier than to be able to facilitate that!
For the world in general i have great hopes and feelings for the changes that we need to see in the world. I have a feeling that things will get much more difficult for those who don’t change and adapt to this new world,. Those who are sitting waiting, may wait a long and hard time. So i hope that we all embrace change, and go with the new flows that present themselves. I believe that those who do embrace this change will have amazing changes in their lives, with incredible opportunities abound. If you had shelved your dreams and desires when you were younger, now may be the time to bring them back to life!

Congratulations on your Portugal residency. I might need to flee South Africa if the locals start to push out the white-skinned descendants of the colonizers lol. Maybe I can receive refugee status in Portugal at the Eco village. I love the concept of Earthships made organically out of local material, preferably with some rounded edges and cob walls. Apparently one simply needs to buy land in Portugal to qualify for residency.

Hi there @eco-alex, I'm a little bit late bringing you new years wishes, but nevertheless, from the bottom of my heart: I wish you the best in 2021! I think you have a great project running there in Portugal, and at some point, when our family is settled next year, I hope we can come and have a look in Portugal. It's been on my list for a few years now, and I hope we will be able to meet in real life one day as I'm so curious to see this project in real life!
Thank you for all your weekly questions in the community and support given, it has been wonderful and truly helping me to meet my goals for this year because here it's also time to make sure we are independent without having an employer and even more needed: a car to make sure we can move around again. Last year has shown us that nothing is impossible, and we are going to make this year rock! In a good way :)
