Thank you to all nearly 40 of you who posted for this weeks QOTW! your responses were just perfect.. and im happy to say a great mix up too! It would have been a bit concerning if everyone would have posted that we shouldn’t have kids any more that’s for sure.,. as a few of you pointed out.. that might well mean the end of the human race as we know it!... There were so many wise words and stories shared.. no one can read it all.. that would take all week! but somehow i manage to go through each one and pluck out a relevant and meaningful sentence or two for us all to see in one page.

I think that having children is a decision for brave and responsible men and women. if we are prepared to have children, we must do so, and if it is in our ability to help or adopt a defenseless child, we can also do it.

Honestly I have some mixed views and feelings about this... there is no clear Yes or No for me. It is surely a very difficult time and a challenging task to be thinking of parenthood for the younger generation.

The activities handed over to us by our ancestors run in a circle, Birth-Grow-work-marry-reproduce-die, our children take it on and follow the same pattern, if one of the elements from this circle is removed, then human at a point stops existing.

have always thought that bringing children into the world is a great responsibility, I consider that if you can not offer them security and a standard of living that allows them to maintain and educate them, it is better not to have them, but that is only my personal assessment.

In my opinion, couples who are living in poverty should wait till they are ready both financially and mentally before bringing kids to this world. We already have enough children suffering, let's not add to the numbers.

I believe that we must always have hope, but even I myself have questioned if I really should have children, I am already missing the bus and I have thought that suddenly God is saving me from something, but we must also think that we are judging the situation from the reality of our countries, specifically the Latinos, that very few provide the economic and social security that exists in other countries, especially some in Europe or Asian countries, as well as many others that provide more and better comforts and whose standard of living is much higher. It seems that the solution is to leave "our" country in order to have a better quality of life that gives us the possibility to have and maintain a descendant. And at this point, I ask myself another question, where is our right to procreate and perpetuate the species, which as "animals" we are called to follow by instinct?
