Children are the future - ecoTrain Question Of The Week Season 6#8: Should we have children whilst so many kids in the world are suffering?

My grandmother used to say that children come with a loaf of bread under their arms and the Bible says that we must grow and multiply, so it is logical to assume that having children is somewhat obligatory, since they are the ones who will perpetuate the species.

After the two great world wars, with the death of millions of people, it became common propaganda that families should be large, to compensate for those losses, and I remember that it was even proclaimed in my country, which did not participate in those wars, that a perfect family was the one with twenty descendants.

The world is turning and there is now talk of overpopulation and in many countries, especially in Asia, the number of children is limited to one, regardless of their social status.

However, realities are unique to each couple, and the need or the possibility of procreating should not be subject to convenience or to patterns imposed by society, managed by minority interests, that which in the last century demanded large families and now criticizes having them, or which spent millions of dollars in affirming that smoking was a class act and now invests twice as much in saying that it is bad.

There is everything in the Lord's vineyard, there are children with bad parents, parents with bad children, some with access to everything, others with shortages, and it does not pendulum the cause in having them or not, it would be like saying that we should exterminate humanity because it is killing the environment or take drastic measures before some situation that presents itself to us.

Extremes are bad, the world may be bad but the answer is not to hibernate, but to act and, coincidentally, those who could make the changes are the future generations and this is made up of our children.

We must educate them for that and it is not subject to the fact that you are rich or poor, because since ancient times the primary teachings are those that are transmitted through parents and grandparents.

Children are the flowers of the garden, the ones who fill the home with dreams of the future, who break the schemes and transform love into divine, who produce the rebirth of youth in their parents and who will inherit the world.

Each person has free will and decides what to do or not to do, in my case I have 5 children and all of them arrived in difficult economic times and served as a catalyst for a greater effort on our part.

True, Children are like flowers in the garden, and it will depend on how we water and take care of that flower to see how it grows.
