Sit straight keep your hands on the knees with your palms facing upwards. Now breathe. Notice which part of the lungs you use to breathe.
Now flip the palms and put them facing downwards. Notice which part of the lungs you use to breathe.
You will notice with palm facing up we tend to breathe with the lower half while with palm down we breathe through the upper part. And if we keep at each of these for a while we will also notice the way our mood changes. Changes to our breathing changes our state of mind and being. Hence the focus in yoga on deep breathing!
In our last post we spoke about the three lower chakras. Lets now look the four higher Chakras. Now its important to not get caught up in the “Upper-Lower” thing. In this post it is simply a positional description and in no way indicative of their importance in any sort of hierarchy.
