One of the Gojiberry plants has new leaves forming

in ecoTrain4 years ago

I started three Gojiberry plants in the early spring. One of them dropped all of its leaves. And the other two have not shown any signs of growth and just a general yellowing of leaves.

For the last few months since planting them there has not been any new growth. Until today, one of them has some new leaf sets forming.

One change I did make was watering it daily. Since it seemed shocked I pulled back the watering to just when the soil was real dry and let the rain do the rest.

Glad to see new leaves forming. Now the plant can build energy with those leaves. It's going to need that energy to make it through winter.

The other Gojiberry plant is hanging on, with it's slightly yellow leaves. Hoping it forms new leaves as well.

I have to keep the Jasmine vine at bay behind it. As it tries to climb the poor little Gojiberry plant. I dont think that would be good for it.

Glad to see one of them have new leaves. Hoping the bugs leave them alone and let them grow. I can treat the leaves with neem oil or something else if need be. I'll keep an eye on them for insect damage.

I think this time the plant will grow beautifully. By watching that very green leaves it will grow fast. Anyway, did you try of fertilising it?

Yeah I hear it can grow fast once established. Nah I did not use any fertilizer, afraid of overwhelming it. Maybe ill give it a little fish fertilizer as its mild. thanks for the idea.
