Creating A Better World - EcoTrain Question of The Week

in ecoTrain2 years ago

What is the best kind of action? This is the latest question from the wonderful EcoTrain and as we move towards a new year, where we continue to face challenging times ahead, it is a question we should all be thinking very deeply about. The world as we knew it, has changed drastically for so many of us and if ever, there was a time to be proactive, it is now!

Unless enough of us speak up and take action, our children will never get to experience the freedom's we have had, to travel, to speak freely and to live how we choose.

I chose to live on the outskirts of society quite a few years ago, firstly because I did not agree with the system's that was in place, from the educational, to the governmental systems, to our health system. I saw how corrupt they were and how their universal goal, was to mold us into the person they wanted us to be. To take away our free will, whilst trying their best to convince us, that they had not.

Fast forward to where we are now and what we are experiencing is on a much larger scale and no longer in such subtle ways, (well it was obvious to some of us for quite a while now). But now there is no denying how much has been taken from us, how much of our freedoms have been lost.

I have no interest in fighting these systems, instead I believe that the best action I can take, is to create a new way and that is through creating and building, sustainable, independent and off grid infrastructure, which ensure my sovereignty, freedom and abundance in life.

This is something that I have been actively involved in, for the last year and a half, becoming part of a collective that came together out of a need to create a better way, for ourselves, our children and for nature as a whole.

We all know, that the old way was not working, that so much was out of balance. It was only a matter of time until we reached a point where we all had to make a choice, a choice between continuing to live as we had been, but under much harsher conditions (although some may not see it that way) or to break away and finally create our own way.

We have been told, our whole lives that we need certain powers to be in place, in order for things to function well within society, but that is only so they function the way that those in power want them to. The level of deception and manipulation has been huge. Resulting in so many of us, becoming disempowered.

Right now, we need to begin to upskill ourselves, so that we can become self sufficient. There are so many skills that we have forgotten, because we were driven more, towards learning business models, instead of learning life skills, that enable us to be independent and self sufficient.

We really need to begin, by looking at what we need, in order to not only survive, but to also thrive in life. Having the means by which to support ourselves and those in our community, so that we provide abundance for all.

Food is one of the top priorities, so having the skills needed to grow and store your food is so important. In our collective we have been discussing the need to have different homesteads committed to growing certain foods, so that we can trade amongst ourselves and no one goes without. Those who have large plots, can receive help from those who do not have any access to grow their own food, in that way they upskill themselves and have food to eat and to trade with.

We have also talked about food storage within our area and the many ways in which we can actually preserve the food that we have grown. We have also created networks with other food growers in the surrounding area as well.

We have created our own currency, which our members have been using successfully between ourselves and has recently gone up on an online platform for alternative currencies in Spain, so that we can trade with people in different regions.

We are very fortunate to have a large number of traditional healers and health practitioners in the area, as well as a Holistic Midwifery school. Many of those people are excited to become a part of the holistic health center that we are manifesting.

I have spend many years in the past, taking to the streets in protest, joining my voice with so many others, to bring attention to the injustices in the world. I continue to use my voice, but now it is through my poetry that I reach out to others.

I am much more focused on being proactive, in creating change, because we are the ones we have been waiting for! There is no one coming to save us! We must save ourselves, by creating the world that we wish to live in and right now, some of us are making that happen!

"We are the ones we have been waiting for". Yes!!!

Your first image is truly stunning, @trucklife-family - totally one that could be published and sold #nft Your art has evolved so wonderfully over the time I have known you.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Thank you @artemislives xxx
I am super busy between moving and olive harvest. Xxx

Very insightful! I am always asking myself....how much is enough and am learning to be satisfied with less. I can see why people are getting PTSD from climate anxiety! I am affected by the "big stuff" I read about.

Thanks @sequentialvibe xxx

I envy your strides as a collective. Such is rare in a society driven by greed and unity. Like you are saying, we've been dissempowered and finding a community that is willing to branch out of these toxic systems is quite hard.

May you continue to change and embrace change as you go. What a good example to emulate for those of us yearning to be free 💗

Hey @tezmel, I think more communities will form, there has never been a greater need for them, it s time to stand together xxx

I'ts a better world because you are in it, inspiring me. Can't wait to move to Tassie and sort out my tribe over there, and get a new garden going for some self sufficiency. I feel like life is on hold a little which is annoying as I had established the gardens here. Anyway I digress because I'm talking about me, ahahha... you're really lucky to live in such a place and have such a supportive and blossoming community around you, I hope that continues in your new place, but you have all the contacts not that far away. Whateer you think you create and you sure think with such beauty, love, openness and truth in your heart xx

Thank you beautiful, it has been a journey for sure, but I do believe I am fully n the right place. Xxxxx
