Hive Poker League is one of the oldest, vibrant, and fun communities on Hive. One of the first Apps built for Hive users is BROsinopoker.com. Hive poker players join free-roll tournaments at BROsinopoker on daily basis for a friendly and competitive poker games.

It is Team Up Season again. We break up into teams of three and compete for the title of best Hive Poker Team. Normally we get benefactors like Curie and other whales to contribute to the prize pool. At this time as everybody is transitioning to Hive, we don't have Prizes yet. So, let's raise some funds for the prizes and have fun at the same time.

If anybody wants to directly contribute to Hive Poker Team Up Tournament prize pool, your contributions will be highly appreciated. You can send them to @bro-poker with a memo - "Team Up Prize".

Let's raise funds by making posts about our players and how they play. I invite all of my fellow Hive Poker players to participate in this "Share your notes and tells on other players" fund raiser. All you need to is make a post and follow the rules below.

The Rules:

  1. Make a post just like this one. Pick 3 to 5 players. Share your thoughts and notes on how these players play, what are their play habits, what do you do to beat their strategy.

  2. Set @bro-poker as a beneficiary for the post. Any rewards your post earns will go towards the Team Up Prize pool. If you post from peakd.com it is easy to set beneficiaries.

  3. Include these rules in your post.

  4. Tag 3 to 5 players to do the same.

  5. Publish your post in BRO SGN Community.

One of the fun parts of playing poker is reading your opponents and outplaying them. For that you need to predict if your opponent is bluffing or not based how they play. Let me share my notes on some of the players.

@chops316 is one of the nicest players in the community. Chops is always polite, makes sure uses your name when you lose and ready to leave. But don't be fooled by this kindness. He beats you will his kindness. You think he is your friend, and go easy on him when you have better cards. Don't! You can beat Chops most of the time if you over-bet. He likes to fold a lot. At the same time if Chops calls your bet, you may want to fold. He most definitely has the best hand. He will not bet high to scare you away. He will always wait for you to bet and trap you. He is patient, slow, and methodical. If he is checking that doesn't mean he doesn't have good cards. In fact, he will keep checking and getting small gains with monster hands. He punishes aggressive players. Remember, if he is betting, he is probably going to win that round. If he is calling your bets, he probably has a better hand. They way to outplay him is either go aggressive with your bluff, or make sure you have the best hand possible.

@bluerobo is also one of the nicest players. You will rarely see Bluerobo (Kaycee) chat while playing. It is part of the strategy. Bluerobo take every game seriously and is always focused. One pattern you will notice Brluerobo do is, betting size. When they have face cards, especially at least one Ace, Brluerobo will bet a little over pot size. After flop, bet either 33% or 50% of the post. Same after turn. Regardless if they have better hand or not. If they get a really good hand after river, all-in is the next move. Otherwise still 50% bet. You can take advantage of this by raising on Bluerobo if you are sure you have a better cards and no Ace on the table. Most likely Bluerobo will call. If you go all in right away, they will call too. However, when Bluerobo is not betting higher than normal, you can easily bluff and steal the pot.

@snook is danger! She is super super lucky almost all the time. Snook will call your bets with all kinds of cards, and most of the time outplay you at the river. You can rely on Snook calling your bets if you keep your bets small size. Don't bluff. It will backfire. "Getting Snooked!" is term we use when she destroy your plans and outplays you masterfully. Don't over-bet when playing against Snook. Bet small and go slow. If you she raises your bet, you can be sure she has a better hand. But if you have the best hand, you can rely on Snook to call your bets as long as you keep them post size and lower. Proceed with care. Don't get Snooked!

@sevendst19 aka Jeff is another tough opponent to play against. Jeff will patiently wait until he has an upper hand, trap you when you have a good hand and you are kinda have to call his raise. If luck is not on your side, Jeff will beat you most of the time. Especially if there are more players participating in the play. When you face Jeff heads up you can out-play him with easy bluffs. You can get Jeff fold most of the time with 5x bets and small gains. However when Jeff calls your bet, it is serious. You may want to call off your bluff and cut your losses. When Jeff bets pot size, it means he is either have a pocket pair or face cards. You will rarely see Jeff bluffing. If he bluffs, you won't catch it. Jeff is really good at chips management and risk/reward plays.

I would like to tag and ask @thehive, @bethalea, @snook, @sultnpapper and @penderis to participate. Make your post, share your strategies and thoughts about our players.

If you are not part of Hive Poker League yet. Join Us. It is a fun community.

100% rewards from this post go to @bro-poker - Team Up Prize Pool.

You are not wrong ;)
I take a little issue with my reckless all-ins. I thought it wasn't that regular of a move. Will need to observe that.
