Yet another kdrama review flowing right in, the very Ms. Incognito I heard so much about from fellow kdrama lovers like myself. For the record, I watched the 12 episodes in two days as I just couldn't seem to tear myself away from the movie and believe me when I say I was anything but disappointed.
The movie stars Jeon Yeo-been as Yeong Ran and Ms Bu Se-mi, Moon Sung-keun as Ga Sung-ho, Jang Yoon-ju as Ga Sun-young, Jung Jin-young as Jeon Dong-min, Seo Hyun-woo and many others.
Synopsis
Yeong Ran, a young, resilient and determined woman from a poor background applies for a personal bodyguard to the terminally ill chairman of Gaseong group, Ga Sung-ho and displays impressive skills that leads to her employment.
Her high sense of perception impels the chairman to propose a contract marriage to her; she's to assume the position of the chairman's legal wife which gives her a claim to his assets, while she exacts revenge for him on his step daughter for murdering his only biological daughter.
However, things take a different turn when the chairman commits suicide which was never part of the plan and Yeong Ran has to flee from Seoul to Muchang, a pretty small village where everyone knows everyone, for three months to set up a perfect plan in motion alongside the chairman's attorney Lee Don.
Moving away from Seoul was the perfect way to get away from Ga Sun-young, the ruthless stepdaughter of the chairman who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.
In Muchang, Yeong Ran poses as Ms Bu Se-mi, a kindergarten teacher where she gets tangled into the lovely and homely web of the Muchang residents and let's not forget their craziness, lol. She equally crosses parts with Dong-min and his son, Ju-won the bubbly boy who also happens to be a student in her class and love unfolds.
With her real identity known to only but two people, she struggles to carry on the revenge the chairman deeply wanted to execute, going through various challenges and near death experiences. As the movie dives deeper, things take an unexpected twist. Lies unveiled, secrets spilt, emotions intense and living, hard.
The movie explores themes of revenge, corruption, social status, romance, self discovery and communal love, with numerous lighthearted scenes to get you rolling on the ground.
