La Línea, en esa zona existían un “estanques de agua” que recogían del Ávila el agua y surtía a todo el área de los Caobos y la futura fuente de la plaza Venezuela, donde se encuentra ubicado hoy en día Hidrocapital, en esta avenida principal había club importante “Casa Blanca” donde la Billo’s tocaba los fines de semana. Con el pasar del tiempo todas las personas que visitaban la hacienda de este personaje ya que era muy cuta decía vamos a donde Mari Pérez y transcurriendo el tiempo se denomino a esta zona en Maripérez.

Hoy en día los habitantes de este sector se divide entre los barrios, las urbanizaciones de casas, edificios y bloques, todavía se consiguen rastros de la Caracas antañona y de techos rojos, los bailes folklóricos (Chimbancleros), Si bien esta zona a tenido una explosión demográfica fuerte, también ha traído la pobreza y delincuencia, sus limites son la Av., Andrés Bello sur, la Cota mil, Pedro Camejo al norte, la Quebrada Caroata, Pinto Salinas y Simón Rodríguez al este y San Bernardino al Oeste.
