I have taken into consideration the three options presented to us for the competition. However, I made the decision to write a travel article. I read the travel writing rules and decided to create this content with the article that it could be a long journey story in it. The main reason why I chose the title of my content as "A Long Journey Story" was that I completed the long distance of my journey on foot. This journey was to the plateau of my village.
Yarışma için bizlere sunulan üç seçeneği de değerlendirmeye aldım. Ancak gezi yazısı yazma kararını verdim. Gezi yazısı kurallarını okudum ve içerisinde geçen uzun bir yolculuk hikayesininde olabileceği maddesiyle bu içeriğimi oluşturmaya karar verdim.
İçeriğimin başlığını "Uzun Bir Yolculuk Hikayesi" olarak belirlemem de ki ana sebeb yaptığım yolculuğun uzun mesafesini yaya olarak tamamlamam oldu.
Bu yolculuğum köyümün yaylasına oldu.
In the morning, I started my journey with the vehicle called patpat or anchor motor, which is used especially in villages. If we consider the speed of this vehicle and the condition of the roads, I reached my first destination, the plateau, after about an hour. As I moved away from the village, I had the chance to watch the village from higher up.
Sabah saatlerinde özellikle köylerde kullanılan patpat ya da çapa motoru adıyla anılan araçla yolculuğuma başladım. Bu aracın hızını ve yolların durumunu ele alırsak yaklaşık bir saatlik bir süre sonucunda ilk hedefim olan yaylaya ulaştım. Köyden uzaklaştıkça daha yüksekten köyü izleme şansını yakaladım.
I understood the first signs of the plateau with the cooler weather compared to the village. The cooler weather was a sign that the day could be spent with less fatigue. Because I wanted to go to many places without saying mountain peak. The first thing I came across was a colorful field. When I saw this field, I couldn't help saying vauv. It is such a beautiful nature scene that I can say that I started my adventure by taking a picture of it.
Yaylanın ilk belirtilerini havanın köye göre daha serin olmasıyla kavradım. Havanın serin olması günün daha az yorgunlukla geçebileceğinin işaretiydi.
Çünkü dağ tepe demeden bir çok noktaya gitmek istiyordum.
İlk karşıma çıkan rengarenk bir tarla oldu. Bu tarlayı görünce vauv demekten kendimi alamadım. O kadar güzel bir doğa manzarası ki bunun resmini çekerek serüvene başladım diyebilirim.
I was literally in the mountains now. Wherever I looked left and right, there were high mountains. Each one had a different view.
Artık tam anlamıyla dağların arasındaydım. Sağa, sola hangi noktaya baksam yüksek dağlar vardı. Her birinin ayrı bir manzarası vardı.
While some mountains are completely made of grass, others are wheat planted on the flat part of others. I can say that we live in times when the wheat planted in the plateau is still green. The presence of many weeds makes the smell of the environment in the highland more pleasant.
Bazı dağlar tamamen otlardan oluşurken bazılarının ise düz bölümüne ekilen buğday başkaları göze çarpıyor. Yaylalaya ekilen buğdayların hala yeşil olduğu zamanları yaşadığımızı söyleyebilirim.
Bir çok yabani otların varlığı yayladaki ortamın kokusunun daha hoş gelmesini sağlıyor.
While I was traveling in the plateau, I did not hesitate to take pictures of the greenery in the flat field. Today, I tried to experience every situation imaginable when the plateau is mentioned.
Yayla içinde gezime devam ederken düz tarlada ki yeşilliklerinde fotoğraflarını çekmekten geri kalmadım. Yayla denilince akla gelebilecek her durumu yaşamaya çalıştım bugün.
I also visited the ancient stone structures called gazebos. I guess that these stone structures are mostly from the time of my grandfathers. These gazebos, of which I have shown a few examples, used to exist at the beginning of almost every field. These structures, very few of which have survived to the present day, were generally single-roomed and built on the foothills of the mountains.
Eskiden kalma çardak adı verilen taştan yapıları da ziyaret ettim. Bu taştan yapılar daha çok dedelerimin döneminden kalma olduğunu tahmin ediyorum. Bir kaç örneğini gösterdiğim bu çardak adı verilen obalar neredeyse eskiden her tarlanın başında varmış. Günümüze çok azı ulaşan bu yapılar genellikle tek odalı ve dağ eteklerine yapılmış.
I guess that it is used more during periods when long stays are required due to the remoteness of the plateau and the lack of vehicle facilities in the past. Especially during the harvest time of the wheat planted in the field, they stayed here for days.
Yaylanın uzak oluşu ve eskiden araç imkanı olmaması nedeniyle uzun süre konaklanması gereken dönemlerde daha çok kullanılmakta olduğunu tahmin ediyorum.
Özellikle tarlaya ekilen buğdayların hasat zamanında günlerce burada kalınıyormuş.
Another concept that comes to mind when the plateau is mentioned is undoubtedly animal husbandry. Due to the coolness of the plateau and the greenness of the grass, they are very suitable points for livestock. In these mountains, where there were animals at every point in the past, we can come across animals at some points, since the number of people dealing with animal husbandry has decreased.
Yayla denilince akla gelen bir diğer kavram hiç kuşkusuz hayvancılıktır. Yaylanın serin oluşu ve otların yeşil kalması nedeniyle hayvancılık için oldukça elverişli noktalardır.
Eskiden her noktasında hayvanlar bulunan bu dağlarda şimdilerde hayvancılıkla uğraşanların sayısı azaldığı için bazı noktalarda hayvanlara rastlayabilmekteyiz.
There are water wells opened at many points for animals. These water wells are especially filled with snow water. At the head of each well is a tin tied with a rope. With these cans, the water is drawn from the wells and the water needs of the animals are met.
Hayvanlar için bir çok noktada açılmış su kuyuları bulunuyor. Bu su kuyuları özellikle kar sularıyla dolmaktadır. Her kuyunun başında iple bağlanmış bir teneke bulunuyor. Bu tenekelerle sular kuyulardan çekilerek hayvanların su ihtiyacı gideriliyor.
While continuing my tour of the plateau, of course, I came across interesting plants. One of them is thorny grass. This grass, which has very hard thorns, was enough to surprise me with its lush and collective stance.
Yayla turuma devam ederken karşıma tabi ki ilginç bitkiler denk geldi. Bunlardan bir tanesi dikenli ot. Çok sert dikenleri bulunan bu ot yemyeşil ve toplu duruşuyla beni şaşırtmaya yetti.
There are generally small grasses in the plateau. After climbing a little higher, tall trees, albeit rare, appeared before me. These tall trees generally consist of juniper trees.
Yaylada genel olarak küçük boylu otlar bulunuyor. Biraz yükseklere çıktıktan sonra nadir de olsa uzun boylu ağaçlar karşıma çıktı. Genel olarak ardıç ağaçlarından oluşuyor bu uzun boylu ağaçlar.

Bu şekilde berlirli yerlerde kuyular vardı. O zamanlarda suyu içmiştik ama şimdi olsa içmem nedense. Bana garip geliyor.
