It’s a new week, and new week comes with interesting topic to deliberate on. One important thing that I love about this topic, is with the fact that this week, the girl child was celebrated, and we all know that every woman must pass through the process of being a girl, before becoming a woman. This week, I will be answering the first question.
1️⃣ What do you think about news of this sort? Do you think you could ever live in such a conservative society? Would you even consider briefly visiting such a country with such laws? How can we assist such women, who cannot afford to flee to a safe place?
The news about a woman being killed for allowing a strand of her hair show is not just wickedness but a very barbaric act. OMG, have humans lost their sense of reasoning as a result of religion, culture and racial differences? This is a condemnable act especially as we live in a world where technology is far evolving along with lifestyles, cultures as well as believe. This act is one that needs to be tackled so as not to allow such happen again in the society. I could remember when something like this happened in my country early this year, where a young girl was murdered Just because she told her classmates to stop sending religious messages in a WhatsApp group meant for academics. She was not just stoned to death, she was burnt to death and the people involved in that act actually recorded a video of themselves and distributed it to the public, laying claims of committing the act and not being scared of what will happen. Up until today, no news about securing Justice for that little girl was have being heard, this is to show you how heartless the hearts of humans are, and I begin to wonder if the almighty created all of us using same pattern.
I would rather relocate to a place where I would find peace and live a good life than stay in a country with so much restrictions and severe punishment. What happened to the law of freedom of speech? What happened to the law of freedom of worship as well as freedom of dressing. In this modern world, people should be free about expressing themselves as what as doing what they feel is good for them.
I would Never risk my life visiting such a country, even for a split seconds. It’s just like you agreeing to visit a lions den for a split seconds, to see if the lion is actually sleeping. It is very risky! Growing in a country where there is so much freedom, and visiting one where you do not know the laws can make you sometimes forget that you are in a country with so much laws, and you might not even know when you are actually breaking a particular law which can be a punishment of death.
The only way to stop the abuse of women is forming a strong base among women. We live in a world where women are molested, ridiculed as well as maltreated because they feel we are weaker vessels and as such do not deserve anything good. But the truth is Women are indeed powerful, and can go extra miles in helping out. To help women with in such situations, we need to keeping writing to international bodies, we need to let the government of that country hear the cry’s of women. Women should be given freedom and freed from such bondage the could lead to death. Creation of organizations as well as supporting such organizations either with research or financially will help to stop such barbaric acts. It’s true that freedom cannot be achieved a single day, but constant hearing of the cries and voices of mothers as well as girls will be the government into action as to ways in which those laws can be eliminated.
