Ana Violeta Diaz Guevara came from Aragua de Barcelona to these Villacurana lands (Villa de Cura in Aragua state, Venezuela) to "temper." It came from an oil company. "Guachamarona" woman - as we say around here
to define brave women-. She was a very active combatant against the dictatorship of General Marcos Pérez Jimenez, for which she suffered the rigors of it.

Co-founder of the Acción Democrática political party in 1941, she defended the ideals of such organization until she became a martyr of the dictatorship and experienced many horrors firsthand. She always told those stories. She worked as a cleaning lady in the institution that at the time was called the Arístides Rojas National School Group, and then joined the old Cadafe company until her retirement. She lived for years in the La Represa sector, in front of the Alberto Smith High School.

Being "The black" Violeta only literate,
(Here in Venezuela the name "black" has no negative connotation and is given with love) she managed better than many who had gone to university. She knew personalities of importance at the local, state and national levels. Nothing "watered her eyes" to interview them.

When the Democratic Action party split - its first split in the 1960s - she separated and went with the MEP people. She died being a mepista. Here in La Villa she was the founder of said political party. She personally knew the teacher Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa.

Her example of a fighting woman makes her worthy of being remembered for her social trajectory always at the service of
community. She kept her commitment to the people high, fighting to achieve their social demands in order to obtain a better quality of life for everybody. She died on December 2, 2004.

People who have made a town.
