What’s the weirdest food you’ve eaten and what was the experience like?/¿Cuál es la comida más extraña que has comido y cómo fue la experiencia?
Bueno desde muy pequeña en nuestra familia se ha acostumbrado a comer lo que llaman cacería ya que cazar y pescar era una práctica muy común entre mis tíos y aun en la actualidad mi tío José se dedica de vez en cuando a eso justo esta semana se encuentra en la caceria de chigüire que es muy sabroso por cierto.
Well, from a very young age, our family has become accustomed to eating what they call hunting since hunting and fishing was a very common practice among my uncles and even today my uncle José dedicates himself to that from time to time. in the chigüire hunt, which is very tasty indeed.

Les parecera extraño pero es mas comun de lo que creen.
Bueno mi historia comenzó a la edad de 17 años cuando fu invitada a una finca de unos amigos en santa bárbara estado Monagas. Éramos un grupo de más o menos 10 personas y bueno en fin la pasamos muy bien todo el dia hasta que llego la hora del almuerzo.
Debo acotar que era la primera vez que iba pero las personas que me acompañaban ya habían ido varias veces.
Well my story began at the age of 17 when I was invited to a farm owned by some friends in Santa Barbara, Monagas state. We were a group of about 10 people and well, we had a great time all day until lunchtime.
I must note that it was the first time I went but the people who accompanied me had already gone several times.
Al sentarme a la mesa y ver el plato servido me di cuenta rápidamente que muchos de los que estaban allí sentados estaban esperando con ansias que yo probara la comida muchos de ellos aguantando las ganas de reír.
Al notarlo dije que no iba a comer y me insistieron que lo hiciera pero les dije que no hasta que me dijeran que tenía la comida.
De momento no le había prestado mucha atención al guiso que me dieron acompañado de arroz y bolas de plátano pero al escudriñar la comida me di cuenta de que no era algo común (no era pollo ni pescado) tena demasiadas costillitas o sea no sé cómo explicar en realidad como se veía el guiso.
Les rogué me dijeran que era pero me dijeron que después que comiera me decían y a la final que más daba daño no me iba a hacer porque ellos estaban comiendo lo mismo y además ya a esas alturas yo había comido iguana, baba, chigüire, cachicamo entre otras cosas, o sea lo que no te mata te fortalece jejej.
As I sat down at the table and watched the plate being served, I quickly realized that many of those sitting there were eagerly waiting for me to taste the food, many of them holding back the urge to laugh.
When I noticed it, I said that I was not going to eat and they insisted that I do so but I said no until they told me I had the food.
At the moment I had not paid much attention to the stew they gave me accompanied by rice and banana balls, but when I scrutinized the food I realized that it was not common (it was not chicken or fish) it had too many ribs that is, I do not know how to explain actually what the stew looked like.
I begged them to tell me what it was but they told me that after I ate they would tell me and at the end that it hurt the most, I was not going to do it because they were eating the same thing and also at that point I had eaten baba chigüire cachicamo iguana among other things. In other words, what does not kill you strengthens you haha.
Empecé a comer y en realidad note un sabor algo parecido al del chigüire pero sabía que no era eso. Además de que el cocinero se destacó al hacer el guiso le quedo muy sabroso...termine comiéndome todo y les dije a los muchachos aja ahora si que fue lo que comí
En eso uno de ellos entra a la casa y sale con una enorme piel de serpiente si amigas una traga-venado como le dicen por acá.
Quede un poco consternada porque en realidad era la primera vez que lo probaba pero les mentiria si les digo que no me gusto.
Si me gusto e incluso fui de visita unas 4 o 5 veces más y hasta me enseñaron como prepararlas pero luego el dueño de la finca decidió venderla y se acabaron las visitas.
I started to eat and actually noticed a taste somewhat similar to that of chigüire but I knew it was not that. In addition to the fact that the cook stood out when he made the stew, it was very tasty ... I ended up eating everything and I told the boys, now, what did I eat?
In that one of them enters the house and comes out with a huge snake skin if you friends a deer swallower as they say around here.
I was a little shocked because it was actually the first time I tried it but I would lie to you if I told you that I did not like it.
If I liked it and I even went to visit about 4 or 5 more times and they even taught me how to prepare them but then the owner of the farm decided to sell it and the visits were over.
Pero esa no fue la última vez
Hace dos años más o menos no recuerdo muy ben la fecha llegue a casa y conseguí con que tenían una traga-venado muerta en un tobo en el pato de la casa.
Resulta que en el patio de un vecino había llegado esta serpiente y por protección a sus nietos el decidió matarla y mi papa se la pidió porque según los abuelitos la manteca extraída de esos animales se utiliza contra dolores reumáticos y él le extraería la manteca.
Al yo llegar y ver la serpiente allí y aun sin limpiar o sea quitarle la piel y las tripas me dispuse a hacerlo y les cuento que es muy rápido el limpiarlas.
Al poco rato llego mi hermana y decidimos que usaríamos una parte de la serpiente para comerla y la otra se la dejaríamos a papa para que sacara su manteca.
Era grande meda más o menos metro y medio asi que si alcanzara para ambos propósitos.
Two years ago or so I do not remember very well when I got home and found that they had a dead deer swallower in a chute in the house duck.
It turns out that this snake had arrived in a neighbor's yard and for the protection of his grandchildren he decided to kill it and my father asked him for it because according to the grandparents the butter extracted from these animals is used against rheumatic pain and he would extract the butter.
When I arrived and saw the snake there and even without cleaning, that is, removing the skin and the guts, I got ready to do it and I tell them that it is very fast to clean them.
Shortly after, my sister arrived and we decided that we would use one part of the snake to eat it and the other we would leave it to Dad to get his butter out.
It was big, about a meter and a half, so if it was enough for both purposes.
La picamos en trozos pequeños y la pusimos a sancochar un buen rato en lo que estuvo lista la mechamos y la guardamos mientras mi hermana y yo preparamos todo para irnos a su casa a cocinarla.
Sofreímos los aliños y la cocinamos con un toque de azúcar quedo ben sabrosa y casi todos comieron con excepción de uno de ms hijos mi hermano y mi mama que les tiene pavor a esos animales.
We chopped it into small pieces and put it to boil for a long time, during which time it was ready, we stirred it up and put it away while my sister and I prepared everything to go home to cook it.
We sautéed the dressings and cooked it with a touch of sugar, it was tasty and almost everyone ate it with the exception of one of our children, my brother and my mother, who is terrified of these animals.

I am just curious
I imagine your impression hahaha, but the truth would not know how to answer you what types of snakes eat since that is the only one I have eaten...greetings and a big hug
