Emotions in human life have a very important function and are an inseparable element of our lives in every area. In the process of education it is very similar, because it is thanks to emotions that curiosity, boredom or even discouragement to a given subject is aroused in us. When we feel pleasant emotions such as pride or joy, our self-esteem increases and our brain increases its potential, its memory range expands, focus and creativity increases, which significantly facilitates the process of learning and remembering. Numerous scientific studies prove that learning through experiments and play brings the most effective results. Most people (especially children) have a natural drive for knowledge and if we can show a given problem or issue in an interesting form, include children in the discussion, involve them in an active way, the chance of effective memorization is significantly increased. It has been proven that in the process of effective learning it is important to interact with thoughts and emotions. When a teacher is unable to interest students in his or her classes, when he or she does not care about the positive atmosphere in his lessons, the learning process is much more difficult. This does not mean, however, that each lesson is to take place in a relaxed atmosphere, because there are subjects on which at least part of the knowledge must be given in a specific form, but it is worth showing it in an interesting way based on examples from life. An important element in building relationships with students is a fair approach to students, the teacher can be strict and demanding, but when he is so towards everyone and not when he treats only the chosen ones in this way.
In my life, such a strict and important teacher was the lady of biology, which I have contact with to this day. Ms. Zyta conducted lessons in an active way, most of the classes were workshops, there were a lot of different exercises and examples, some of the lessons took place outside the classroom, her faculties in biology were very popular among students from my year and many others. Despite the fact that it was easy to get a single from her, everyone from my class liked her lessons, and as the sympathy for the Lady grew, interest in the subject increased, and the number of ones in the class decreased. I think that not one person instilled a lot of knowledge, I personally can still recall many topics that were discussed in her classes. The knowledge gained from them to be applied in life or passed on to one's own children. I think it is also easier for me to reach into these areas of my memory precisely because they have a positive emotional coloration. Mrs. Zyta is also an example of a teacher with a strongly developed emotional intelligence, she could read in us as in open books, she is a teacher who knew when to rebuke us and when to extend a helping hand to us. It is also a teacher who has never humiliated anyone, who strived to reach every student, to help him understand a topic that was difficult for him. In fact, it would be ideal if teachers had tests to measure the level of emotional intelligence before being admitted to the profession, perhaps then people who destroy their natural drive for knowledge in students would not be allowed to enter the profession of pedagogue and students could get even more out of school. A teacher with low emotional intelligence can do a lot of harm to students, especially when they have not brought a strong sense of self-esteem out of the house, when they do not know their strengths. I was lucky that there were few such teachers on my way, but one person representing the qualities of such a teacher particularly stuck in my memory. The lady from geography, who was also demanding and strict, had very bad habits that caused me and many students to be averse to her subject. Despite the fact that her classes objectively had a great potential to get a large dose of knowledge from them, because they were given in a fairly attractive form. So what was the reason why when going to her lessons, more than one student felt stomach pain, nausea or simply worsened his mood? Why not once and not twice did I happen to be exempt from her lessons and not only me, the attendance of the class was suddenly reduced in geography lessons. The lady was in a very bad habit, she was very fond of humiliating and ridiculing the disciples, she tended to look for a victim, towards whom she made biting remarks for most of the lesson. There were a few such people in my class, but such treatment of our colleagues by you aroused in us a lot of internal opposition. As young people, we were not able to oppose it, none of us found the strength to raise our voice of opposition, to do something that would improve this difficult situation for us.
At that time, we were not taught that we were allowed to say no when something arouses opposition in us, when someone strikes at our dignity, no one talked to us about it. The lady also had a habit of gossiping about the students with other students, which I think is reprehensible and testifies to the low degree of empathy and maturity of someone who should educate the young generation and show them the right direction. Of course, the Lady also had her pets, who even when they did not know the answer did not suffer the consequences. Such unequal and unfair treatment of students by the lady from geography made me remember from her lessons mainly her bad behavior and negative emotions that she aroused in us, as an adult I am aware of the harm she did to us. Currently this lady teaches geography to my son, seeing that she will teach him, I was able to prepare him for what could take place in her lessons. My son is always prepared for them (but if his leg rolled up from this item, he knows that we will not resent him, it is important for us to try and work honestly) he also knows that if similar behaviors were to happen in his class, he should report such a problem to us. Perhaps over time you have matured a bit and stopped using some of these practices, but I am aware that sometimes you happen to return to bad habits.
To sum up, emotions play a very important role in the education process, and the teacher should be a person sensitive to the emotions of others, when shaping young people, you need to realize that we can do a lot of good, giving a solid baggage of knowledge and experience, arm students with self-esteem. However, when the teacher does not have this awareness, when he does not know how he affects others, he can even destroy or permanently damage the psyche of the student, who then for many years can face numerous traumas acquired thanks to such a teacher. Both of these cases are extreme, most teachers are somewhere in the middle, but it would be ideal if those from this lower pole were eliminated from the school system, because the principle of first of all do no harm should be paramount also in the case of the education process.

Emocje w życiu człowieka pełnią bardzo ważną funkcję i są nierozerwalnym elementem naszego życia w każdym obszarze. W procesie edukacji jest bardzo podobnie, ponieważ to właśnie za sprawą emocji zostaje w nas wzbudzona ciekawość, znudzenie czy wręcz zniechęcenie do danego przedmiotu. Gdy odczuwamy przyjemne emocje takie jak duma czy radość, rośnie nam poczucie własnej wartości a nasz mózg zwiększa swój potencjał, poszerza się jego zakres pamięci, zwiększa się skupienie i kreatywność, co w znaczący sposób ułatwia proces uczenia i zapamiętywania. Liczne badania naukowe, dowodzą iż nauka przez eksperymenty i zabawę przynosi najskuteczniejsze efekty. Większość ludzi ( w szczególności dzieci ) ma w sobie naturalny pęd do wiedzy i jeśli tylko uda nam się ukazać dany problem czy zagadnienie w ciekawej formie, włączyć dzieci do dyskusji, zaangażować je w sposób aktywny, szansa na efektywne zapamiętanie jest znacznie zwiększona. Udowodniono, że w procesie efektywnego uczenia się jest ważne współdziałania myśli i emocji. Gdy nauczyciel nie potrafi zainteresować uczniów swoimi zajęciami, gdy nie dba o pozytywną atmosferę na swoich lekcjach, proces uczenia jest znacznie utrudniony. Nie znaczy to jednak, że każda lekcja ma przebiegać w luźnej atmosferze, bo są przedmioty na, których przynajmniej część wiedzy trzeba podać w określonej formie, natomiast warto ukazać ją w sposób ciekawy oparty na przykładach z życia. Ważnym elementem w budowaniu relacji z uczniami jest sprawiedliwe podejście do uczniów, nauczyciel może być surowy i wymagający, ale gdy jest taki wobec wszystkich a nie gdy traktuje w taki sposób tylko wybranych.
W moim życiu takim surowym i ważnym nauczycielem była Pani od biologii, którą mam kontakt do dziś. Pani Zyta prowadziła lekcje w sposób aktywny, większość zajęć miała charakter warsztatowy, było na nich dużo różnych ćwiczeń i przykładów, część lekcji odbywała się poza klasą, jej fakultety z biologii cieszyły się ogromną popularnością wśród uczniów z mojego rocznika i wielu kolejnych. Pomimo tego, że łatwo było dostać u niej jedynkę , wszyscy z mojej klasy lubili jej lekcje, a wraz ze wzrostem sympatii do Pani wzrastało zainteresowanie przedmiotem, a malała ilość jedynek w klasie. Myślę, że nie jednej osobie zaszczepiła ogrom wiedzy, ja osobiście do tej pory potrafię sobie przypomnieć wiele tematów, które były poruszane na jej zajęciach. Wiedzę z nich wyniesioną zastosować w życiu czy przekazać własnym dzieciom. Myślę, też jest mi łatwiej sięgnąć do tych obszarów mojej pamięci właśnie dlatego, że mają one pozytywne zabarwienie emocjonalne. Pani Zyta to też przykład nauczyciela o mocno rozwiniętej inteligencji emocjonalnej, potrafiła w nas czytać jak w otwartych księgach, to taki nauczyciel który wiedział kiedy nas zganić i kiedy wyciągnąć do nas pomocną dłoń. To również, nauczyciel który nigdy nikogo nie poniżał, który dążył do tego aby dotrzeć do każdego ucznia, pomóc mu zrozumieć temat który był dla niego trudny. Tak naprawdę idealnie by było gdyby, nauczyciele przed dopuszczeniem do zawodu mieli robione testy mierzące poziom inteligencji emocjonalnej, być może wówczas do zawodu pedagoga nie były by dopuszczane osoby niszczące w uczniach ich naturalny pęd do wiedzy i uczniowie mogli by wyciągnąć ze szkoły jeszcze więcej. Nauczyciel z nisko rozwiniętą inteligencją emocjonalną może wyrządzić uczniom dużo krzywdy, zwłaszcza gdy z domu nie wynieśli silnego poczuci własnej wartości, gdy nie znają oni swoich mocnych stron. Miałam to szczęście, że takich nauczycieli na mojej drodze było niewielu, jednak jedna osoba reprezentująca cechy takiego nauczyciela szczególnie utkwiła mi w pamięci. Pani z geografii, która również była wymagająca i surowa miała bardzo złe zwyczaje, które spowodowały, u mnie i wielu uczniów awersję do jej przedmiotu. Mimo tego, że jej zajęcia obiektywnie miały duży potencjał by wynieść z nich sporą dawkę wiedzy, bo były podawane w dość atrakcyjnej formie. Co zatem było powodem tego, że idąc na jej lekcje, nie jeden uczeń odczuwał bóle brzucha, mdłości czy zwyczajnie pogarszał mu się humor? Dlaczego nie raz i nie dwa zdarzało mi się zwalniać z jej lekcji i nie tylko mi, frekwencja klasy ulegała nagłemu obniżeniu na lekcjach geografii. Pani miała bardzo zły zwyczaj, bardzo lubiła poniżać i wyśmiewać uczniów, miała tendencję do upatrywania sobie ofiary, w stosunku do której przez większość lekcji wypowiadała kąśliwe uwagi. Takich osób w mojej klasie było parę, jednak takie traktowanie naszych kolegów przez Panią, budziło w nas spory wewnętrzny sprzeciw. Jako młode osoby nie byliśmy w stanie się temu przeciwstawić, nikt z nas nie znalazł w sobie siły by podnieść głos sprzeciwu, by zrobić coś co poprawiło by tą trudną dla nas sytuacje.
W tamtym czasie nie byliśmy uczeni, że wolno nam powiedzieć nie gdy coś budzi w nas sprzeciw, gdy ktoś uderza w naszą godność, nikt nie rozmawiał z nami na ten temat. Pani miała też w zwyczaju obgadywać uczniów z innymi uczniami, co uważam za naganne i świadczące o niskim stopniu empatii a zarazem dojrzałości kogoś, kto powinien kształcić młode pokolenie i wskazywać mu właściwy kierunek. Oczywiście Pani miała również swoich pupilków, którzy nawet gdy nie znali odpowiedzi nie ponosili konsekwencji. Tak nierówne i niesprawiedliwe traktowanie uczniów przez Panią z geografii sprawiło, że z jej lekcji pamiętam głównie jej złe zachowanie i negatywne emocje, które w nas wzbudzała, jako osoba dorosła jestem świadoma krzywdy, którą nam robiła. Obecnie Pani ta uczy geografii mojego syna widząc, że będzie go uczyć byłam go w stanie przygotować do tego co może mieć miejsce na jej lekcjach. Mój syn jest na nie zawsze przygotowany( ale gdyby podwinęła mu się noga z tego przedmiotu, wie że nie będziemy mieć mu za złe ważne jest dla nas by się starał i pracował uczciwie) wie również, że jeśli podobne zachowania miały by się zdarzać w jego klasie ma nam zgłosić taki problem. Być może z biegiem czasu Pani nieco dojrzała i zaprzestała stosowania części z tych praktyk, jednak jestem świadoma, że czasem zdarza jej się wrócić do złych nawyków.
Podsumowując, emocje pełnią bardzo ważną rolę w procesie edukacji, a nauczyciel powinien być osobą wrażliwą na emocje innych, kształtując młodych ludzi trzeba sobie zdawać sprawę, że możemy zrobić dużo dobrego, dając solidny bagaż wiedzy i doświadczeń, uzbroić uczniów w poczucie własnej wartości. Gdy jednak nauczyciel nie ma tej świadomości, gdy nie wie w jaki sposób oddziałuje na innych, może nawet zniszczyć czy trwale nadszarpnąć psychikę ucznia, który potem przez wiele lat może mierzyć się z licznymi traumami nabytymi za sprawą takiego nauczyciela. Oba te przypadki są skrajne, większość nauczycieli jest gdzieś po środku, jednak było by idealnie gdyby ci z tego dolnego bieguna zostali wyeliminowani z systemu szkolnictwa, bo zasada po pierwsze nie szkodzić powinna być nadrzędną także w przypadku procesu edukacji.
