Clearing the head in a simple walk

in Ladies of Hive4 years ago

Some weeks are different than others. This one of those weeks. I just got the keys to a new place again and moving will happen very soon. Before this can happen the place just needs a little bit of work.

No big renovations bit just some retouching here and there. It isn't a big deal but still it all takes a tremendous amount of effort all together.

Cleaning and making everything dustfree. Roughing up the surface so the paint attaches better. Cleaning it off to remove the dust again. Cover all the sidings in painting tape so you don't spill anything. Finally paint. Remove tape.

Actually I kind of like doing these kinds of things, because you see really good result with it when everything looks fresh all of a sudden. No big makeovers because the old owners made it look good, but just getting it all fresh again...It's not really a bad thing.

But doing this weeks in a row with a normal job on the side? I don't know how people do it. Luckily sometimes I get to hide in the forest every now and then with the excuse to walk the dog. Because the dog and a house full of paint...it doesn't work!

I can walk around in the forest for hours just looking around at what is going on. And the funny thing is...it doesn't matter how often I am there, I always see something new.

For instance this tree above I pass it almost every other day, and I have never noticed it was almost about a tree that also needed renovation. As if it consisted from two layers, or the old layyers was tearing off. I don't think that this tree will get a new layer though, most likely it will crash and burn someday in a storm in the upcoming future.

The dog was enthusiastic about the forest as expected, because he has not gotten the attention this week that he deserves. I guess I will try to give him some TLC in the new place when this is all over, overwhelm him in treats and more long walks than is good for him. Not that he isn't walking now..he is actually...It is just..it is an animal of company...and we aren't there. He will be fine in the end.

And in the evening when all is over...The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is the shamingless guilty pleasure to relax a bit with...

Hopefully this is all back to normal soon. Maybe the tree will have a new coat grown on him as well

Sort:

Good luck with your renovations.

The tree looks sad with the bark peeling off.

Hahaha yeah the tree looks like it is taking of his coat for the winter

Yes, it does. What a great metaphor.

Ah nothing like a walk to clear the head xxx

Best stuff indeed and works for everything!

So it won't get to normal soon because the tree doesn't grow the coat back. I hope you are doing better soon and find that place where you can grow old at.

I am aiming for this one to be that! Its a cool place!

Ow my gosh, it seems you just can't stop with moving your stuff around. I really hope it's for the long time now? But well, ya ... I hoped that before. Anyways, good luck with all. Give that doogo some extra attention, and a bit of cheese, he'll be fine. He really will ...

And good luck with all you have to do ... again!

Well this one is the idea to stay a long time. A nice place near the woods and the idea is to stay a while!

Near the wood sounds good ... Let's wait and see. 😆

Wow, I can imagine how hard it is to move to a new place, even harder to renovate. But yes, it should be rewarding of course!

At least you have a forest and a dog to walk!

Good luck!

Tx girlie! Luckily it is just a small renovation and mostly freshening the walls and floormanager. But still. It has gor to be done!

That tree is the perfect specimen for growing morel mushrooms in the spring. Bark falling off, check around the base for any of them growing off the roots.

That is true actually! I didnt think of it but will surely bw back to check what is growing in there in moisty times
