Snacks Help When I'm Angry? || Ladies of Hive Community Contest #95

1️⃣ We all have a different boiling point, some of us are easily angered, others are really cool tempered. Kindly share one thing that makes you angry, how long do you stay mad, and what or who can pacify you.

I'm a planner and like things to go orderly. If there's one thing that makes me angry most times it's when things don't go the way I expect them to or when things go wrong.

Life is unpredictable and dynamic, no doubt. I have this knowledge ingrained somewhere in my brain, yet it doesn't stop the influx of emotions, one of which is anger when things go sideways.

To seek perfection in our world is a certain waste of time because we are imperfect. This means things will always go wrong or be different from what we have planned. Appointments may not go through, children may arrive late to school, staff of a company could lose their jobs, electricity may be down, friends may fight, spouses could get divorced etc. These upsetting situations usually happen unexpectedly resulting in a change of plans. This can be disappointing.

I dislike it when I am prepared to handle something and the opposite happens or the tools I need to achieve my goal are unavailable. I become frustrated and annoyed. The situation in my country makes this type of occurrence a frequent thing and I have forced myself to get used to it.

As long as the problem persists, I may stay angry and work towards a solution. At the same time, I would look for who to blame: myself or the next person. Then I feel better after the matter is resolved. I also listen to music to calm down or find a loved one to talk to. It usually helps.

Sometimes, I stay angry with myself because some situations are beyond my control. That is, the feeling of powerlessness. I scold myself for falling short and plan to do better.

The ability to control one's emotions, especially anger, is important. To avoid staying angry for too long, I sometimes have backup plans just in case the first one fails or doesn't work out. Staying angry for too long is unhealthy for the body and mind, so I avoid situations that would put me in this position.

No one is above anger and I'm yet to meet a person that has never been angry before. Control is the most important thing and positively dealing with such anger when it comes.

2️⃣ What is your favourite snack or snacks? Share photos of them if you can.

I think any food item can be a snack, something you nibble on in a relaxed state to keep your stomach steady until proper meal time. Some people prefer fruits as snacks while some prefer sweet foods like cakes, chips, popcorn etc.

When I'm watching a movie or out with a friend, I love to nibble on any sweet food and as such, I don't have a favourite snack. Usually, I snack on biscuits, chocolate bars (if available) or cakes with a malt drink.

If it's at night after dinner, I could snack on a glass of wine and chips. Is that a weird combination? Hehe. As long as it tastes good, I don't mind but I'm also careful not to indulge too much.

I completely understand how you feel when all of your plans are ruined.
I'm not a perfectionist, but I like everything to be in order. It irritates me when things do not go as planned. That is why I rarely plan. 😊 Unless its really important too.

Things going the opposite ways than what we thought them to be can be frustrating, but it's great that you make back up plans, they come in handy :) Also nice that you recognize the fact that staying angry for long isn't doing good to our health :)

A glass of wine plus chips is an excellent combo for me too :) Especially when the chips are a bit spicy.

I love to have snacks around for such things ... but as a creative you learn over time that unless you plan for those carb-rich snacks elsewhere in your diet and activity, they make their way to being part of you ...
