A while back, I was theory crafting on what else I can do with Scarred Llama Mage. I found Neal McSpadden's game in youtube featuring Scarred Llama Mage and Gelatinous Cube. However, it required you to unlock Gelatinous Cube's Heal ability. So, I kind of made the same idea with another monster that cannot attack when in 1st position, while being able to heal a ton.

This is my more inferior version of Gelatinous Cube and Scarred Llama Mage Combo.

Lore Summary Banner.gif

Scarred Llama Mages are proud magical beings from the Life Splinters who once faced extinctions because of the Werewolves. Korina, a young Llama Mage may saved the tribe but most of them now live in caves.

Eventually, she had to sacrifice herself in order to lead the Wolves astray towards the great Gap of Evala. She made a great leap evading the wolves. This experience, however, awakened her in a trance. After a fortnight, she was in the magical forest and the Spirit told her that a Shimmer Dragon was passing by the Gap of Evala which saved her from the wolves.

A giant floating, magical, mysterious eyeball that can see anything in any direction for miles.

(I apologize, the lore is really short. I can't add anything else.)

𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

Scarred Llama Mage's price is so high, some of the max levels actually surpass $1400. This actually makes sense given how strong this card is. I'm actually envious of the people who were playing when Untamed Series went on sale. There's a lot of money cards on it like Scarred Llama Mage or Kron the Undying.

Market Price | Rent

Llama Rent.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

Scarred Llama Mage's price depends on the season. There was a time I rented a 90 DEC Llama Mage because there's no cheaper one available.

However, there was also cheaper ones like the one above which is a bit less than 20 DEC. Because of the price change, I don't think this is a reliable rent but if you can rent one at affordable price, I suggest for you to do so.

Cornealus

Market Price | Buy

Buy.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

Even if Cornealus camer from the Untamed series, the price cannot be more different than Scarred Llama Mage.

𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

Despite being a legendary Untamed monster, the rental price is actually cheap. This may be because of how strange it's ability is. Cornealus is a range monster but all of his ability is suited for a tank. This makes you wonder if you want to put him in a tank position or a range position where he's able to attack.

Stats | Scarred Llama Mage

Llama Stats.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

Scarred Llama Mage is a Legendary Summoner allowing you to summon level 3 commons, level 2 rares, level 2 epic and level 1 monsters.

These summoning cap is the maximum for Bronze League which makes Scarred Llama Mage level 1 all you need for a Bronze battle.

Abilities

Last Stand.png

Last Stand gives 50% more stats to the last surviving monster you have.

Stats | Cornealus

Stats.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

Cornealus is a legendary monster from Untamed Series. He's weirdly a great tank because of his abilities and high health. However, being a range unit, he cannot attack unless been given a Close Range ability via rules of combat or a summoner.

Abilities

Heal.png

At level 1, Heal is unlocked. Heal ability allows the monster to recover a third of his health at the start of his turn, rounded down. Heal and range ability makes Cornealus a good blocker for Sneaks but in this case, also as a tank.

Thorns.png

At level 2, Thorns is unlocked. Thorns return 2 melee damage to any melee attacker that hits Cornealus. This makes him a good counter against Sneaks as most sneak monsters are melee monsters as well.

Return Fire.png

At level 3, Return Fire is unlocked. Return Fire ability does not half any damage but will return half of any attacker's range attack, minimum of 1.

Magic Reflect.png

At level 4, Magic Reflect is unlocked. Magic Reflect ability does not half any damage but will return half of any attacker's magic damage, minimum of 1.

Round 1

Round 1.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

  1. Deeplurker's

𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

  1. Deeplurker's
Opportunity attack killed Kron the Undying.

My opponent's overall damage is 10 while because of Scarred Llama Mage's Bonus Health and Last Stand, Cornealus goes to 21 health and heals 7 damage per round.

Round 7

Round 7.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

  1. Cornealus's Return Fire killed
    Kulu Swimhunter.

If my opponent doesn't miss, his overall damage is 8 while Cornealus's heal per round is also 7 meaning I will take about 1 damage every round.

Round 17

Round 17.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

  1. Uraeus's
missed his Sneak attack to Cornealus.

This miss is really big because it would allow me to heal an extra 2 this round which allows me to survive another 2 more turns.

Author's Note Banner.gif

𝑫𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 Scarred Llama Mage and Cornealus? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

Yes. I think it's a good strategy to be on your pocket. However, one good side of Splinterlands is that there's no strategy that is unbeatable. If you can anticipate this strategy, you can actually out heal Cornealus by using big hitters.

That is why this strategy is more useful on lower mana matches, just enough for you to get both Scarred Llama Mage and Cornealus on board.

ᒪIᑎEᑌᑭ

Lineup.jpg
𝔓𝔥𝔬𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔪𝔶 𝔖𝔭𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰 𝔞𝔠𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔱.

Summoner: Scarred Llama Mage: A legendary summoner that gives your team an extra 2 health. She can also remove any negative status and effects at the start of each of turn of your monster in 1st position. Lastly, Scarred Llama Mage gives all of your monsters Last Stand ability which increases all of their stats by 50% if they're the last monster on your board.

  1. Failed Summoner: A low mana cost monster with 4 health. Good defense due to his Magic Reflect ability.

On lower mana matches, I intentionally use level 1 monsters because I needed them to be eliminated immediately in order to get stucked as the last monsters for the Last Stand ability.

  1. Kron the Undying: High health magic damage monster with Heal. Can also be a good target for Scarred Llama Mage's Last Stand.

  2. Cornealus: A high health range monster that has the ability to Heal himself. Second strategy to Scarred Llama Mage.

ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?

Yes. This strategy abuses a certain Splinterlands mechanic called, "Fatigue." After round 20, at every round, all monsters on the field will take 1 damage. This fatigue damage cannot be reduced or negated. It passes through shield, or immunity ability. In addition to that, this damage is increased by 1 every round. This damage compounds.

To make it easier to understand, at round 21, every monsters take 1 damage. At round 22, everything takes 2 damage. At round 23, everything takes 3 damage and so on.

Logically, speaking, at fatigue rounds, anyone who does not have the ability to heal themselves would die first.

ᗯᕼᗩT ᗯIᒪᒪ YOᑌ TᖇY ᗪIᖴᖴEᖇEᑎTᒪY ᑎE᙭T TIᗰE?

None. This strategy is risky in terms that you can be outdamaged by your opponent because on first position, you cannot attack. Also, this strategy is kind of like a backup strategy of Scarred Llama Mage x Kron the Undying.

Either of the two die, I have a strong monster that heals a ton that would survive the fatigue rounds.

Maybe I'll play the game someday.
The name made me laugh "Scarred Llama Mage and Gelatinous Cube"
This is so interesting.

I would say that the game can be confusing at first but among the trading card games I played, like Yugioh or Magic the Gathering, this probably is the easiest to pick up.

The art styles are really cool as well. Recently, it more leans on monsters like dragons and whatnot rather than animals like Scarred Llama Mage.

If you decided to play the game and needed any help, you can drop a comment any time. I'm glad to help.

The game took a huge change lore-wise at the release of Chaos Legion. Now, the abilities can be seen in their lore part as well. For example, if in the lore, it said they saw a flying monster, expect that that monster have flying ability in their stats page. Really cool development. !PIZZA

That's cool indeed! I haven't really check the game but it's great the developments are making things a lot more fun. As always, good luck on your battles
