La extraña vida de Timothy Green:
La extraña vida de Timothy Green es una película del año 2012, del género Infantil/Fantasía. Entre sus actores se encuentran: Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, CJ Adams y Odeya Rush.
Se trata de una pareja que no puede tener hijos y que han pasado por diferentes tratamientos para poder solucionarlo, sin tener éxito. Es tanta su ilusión que incluso un día realizan una especie de ritual en el que escriben cómo desean que sea su hijo, van agregando características entre ambos y luego guardan la lista en una cajita y la entierran en el jardín trasero de su casa. Luego en medio de una tormenta la película nos presenta que ocurre algo increíble y un niño surge de la tierra. Se llama Timothy Green y ellos deciden cuidarlo y protegerlo. El niño tiene una peculiar característica y es que en sus piernas le nacen hojas cómo las de los árboles. Con todo y que el niño aparece de repente, Cindy y Jim Green, deciden enviar al niño a la escuela y criarlo como a un niño normal. Mientras el tiempo transcurre, Cindy y Jim van reconociendo y aprendiendo a ser padres. Descubren sus fortalezas y trabajan en sus debilidades.
Sin embargo, el tiempo de Timothy con los Green está ya marcado y es limitado. A medida que pasan los días, las pequeñas hojitas de sus piernas se van cayendo y cuando queda solo una, sus padres se dan cuenta de que es tiempo de despedirse. Igual que el día en el que llegó, es con una gran tormenta que Timothy desaparece. Cindy y Jim al reconocerse capaces de ser padres y dar amor a un niño (sin importar si ha nacido de su vientre o no) deciden adoptar, y es la historia de Timothy la que le cuentan a la representante del centro de adopciones para poder optar como futuros papás adoptivos.
Aparte de las gratas experiencias que Timothy hizo vivir a sus padres, también influyó positivamente en sus compañeros de escuela y sobre todo en una adolescente llamada Joni, quién se convierte en su mejor amiga y es en esa amistad que podemos ver reflejado el respeto hacia las creencias de cada quién, supongo que de eso se trata ¿No? de valorar y respetar a tus amigos con sus virtudes y "defectos". Lo coloco entre comillas porque los defectos pueden ser virtudes para otros, depende de cómo se miren.
¿Porqué me identifico con Jennifer Garner en su personaje de Cindy?
Mi esposo y yo tenemos 24 años juntos, de los cuales pasamos al rededor de 14 buscando bebé. Diferentes tratamientos no eran suficientes, y el tiempo pasaba mientras yo acumulaba pequeños papeles de laboratorio que indicaban negativo cada vez que me sometía a un examen para comprobar si estaba embarazada. La tristeza y la frustración estaban allí acompañándonos y fastidiando a más no poder. Anhelábamos tanto ser padres que también recurrimos a la magia y a lo increíble. No hicimos una lista cómo la protagonista de la película, pero si colocamos en una tabla diferentes imágenes arregladas en photoshop, donde aparecíamos cargando y cuidando a "nuestros" bebés. Es la conocida tabla de los deseos o Vision Board.
Dos o tres años después de haber creado esta bonita tabla de deseos, comenzaron a llegar nuestros hijos. No nos tocó adoptar como lo hicieron en la película (aunque créanme que me habría gustado mucho) porque nuestros hijos llegaron de forma natural y a través de mi vientre. Tenemos 3, dos niñas y un niño. Y al ver todo lo transcurrido para que ellos llegaran a este mundo, no dejo de agradecer a Dios.
Mis hijos son sanos, inteligentes y muy felices. No tienen hojitas en sus piernas je,je,je y agradezco a Dios porque sé que su paso por este mundo será de muchos años y cada uno dejará huellas a su modo. Sin embargo, me identifico mucho con el personaje materno de esta película por el amor incondicional que entregó tanto a Timothy, cómo a la niña que después le permitieron adoptar. Es maravilloso que podamos amar infinitamente a otro ser humano y considerarlo cómo nuestro hijo, aún cuando no ha nacido de nuestro vientre.
La extraña vida de Timothy Green es un film que me gustó mucho y que recomiendo que la vean. La pueden encontrar en plataformas de Streaming como Disney.
Y así culmina mi respuesta y participación en el concurso número 88 de la comunidad Ladies of Hive. Espero les haya gustado y que además se entusiasmen en ver la película.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a 2012 film of the Children/Fantasy genre. Among its actors are: Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, CJ Adams and Odeya Rush.
It is about a couple who cannot have children and who have gone through different treatments to solve it, without success. Their enthusiasm is so great that one day they even carry out a kind of ritual in which they write how they want their child to be, they add characteristics together and then they keep the list in a little box and bury it in the back garden of their house. Then in the middle of a storm the film shows us that something incredible happens and a child emerges from the ground. His name is Timothy Green and they decide to take care of him and protect him. The boy has a peculiar characteristic and that is that leaves grow on his legs like those of the trees. With everything and that the boy suddenly appears, Cindy and Jim Green, decide to send the boy to school and raise him as a normal child. As time passes, Cindy and Jim recognize and learn to be parents. They discover their strengths and work on their weaknesses.
However, Timothy's time with the Greens is already marked and limited. As the days go by, the little leaves on her legs fall off and when there is only one left, her parents realize that it is time to say goodbye. Just like the day he arrived, it is with a great storm that Timothy disappears. Cindy and Jim, recognizing themselves capable of being parents and giving love to a child (regardless of whether it was born from their womb or not) decide to adopt, and it is Timothy's story that they tell the representative of the adoption center to be able to choose as prospective adoptive parents.
Apart from the pleasant experiences that Timothy made his parents live, he also had a positive influence on his classmates and especially on a teenager named Joni, who becomes his best friend and it is in that friendship that we can see reflected the respect towards the each person's beliefs, I guess that's what it's all about, right? to value and respect your friends with their virtues and "defects". I put it in quotes because defects can be virtues for others, depending on how you look at them.
Why do I identify with Jennifer Garner in her character of Cindy?
My husband and I have been together for 24 years, of which we spent around 14 looking for a baby. Different treatments were not enough, and time passed while I accumulated little lab papers that indicated negative every time I had a test to check if I was pregnant. Sadness and frustration were there accompanying us and bothering us as much as possible. We wanted to be parents so much that we also turned to magic and the incredible. We did not make a list as the protagonist of the film, but we did place different images arranged in photoshop on a table, where we appeared carrying and caring for "our" babies. It is the well-known table of wishes or Vision Board.
Two or three years after creating this beautiful wish table, our children began to arrive. We didn't have to adopt like they did in the movie (although believe me I would have liked it very much) because our children came naturally and through my womb. We have 3, two girls and one boy. And seeing everything that happened for them to come to this world, I can't stop thanking God.
My children are healthy, intelligent and very happy. They don't have little leaves on their legs hehe, hehe and I thank God because I know that their passage through this world will last many years and each one will leave traces in their own way. However, I identify a lot with the mother character in this film because of the unconditional love that she gave both to Timothy and to the girl that she was later allowed to adopt. It is wonderful that we can infinitely love another human being and consider him as our child, even when he has not been born from our womb.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a film that I really liked and that I recommend you watch. You can find it on streaming platforms like Disney.
