Yo por lo general suelo autoinvitarme a participar en los concursos semanales de la comunidad de Ladies of Hive pero en esta oportunidad mi querida amiga @audiarmisg fue quien me invitó a participar y como no está en mí rechazar las invitaciones...pues, bueno, aquí estoy nuevamente compartiendo mi entrada para este concurso semanal. Las preguntas que se nos plantean en esta Edición #91 del Ladies of Hive Community Contest están bastante interesantes -como siempre- pero yo he querido responder a la siguiente:
He querido responder a esta pregunta básicamente porque la música es algo que está presente en mi día a día y además es un elemento que produce demasiadas emociones diferentes consciente o inconscientemente. Bien sea en la juventud o en la vejez, la música siempre marcará nuestra vida pues nos permite liberar tensiones, emocionarnos y evocar recuerdos.

The questions posed to us in this Ladies of Hive Community Contest Edition #91 are quite interesting - as always - but I wanted to answer the following one:
Name a song, any song, happy or sad, that stirs your heart and soul everytime you hear it. What memories, feelings, emotions, and images does the song bring back? Is there a story that goes with the song?
I wanted to answer this question basically because music is something that is present in my day to day life and it is also an element that produces too many different emotions consciously or unconsciously. Whether in youth or in old age, music will always mark our lives because it allows us to release tensions, get excited and evoke memories.
Frank Sinatra es el cantante favorito de mi padre desde hace mucho, MUCHO tiempo y es tanto su fanatismo hacia él, que posee su discografía completa tanto en discos de vinilo como en CD. Recuerdo que de niña mi padre colocaba las canciones de Sinatra y me las traducía para que yo las comprendiera y así fue como yo también me fui convirtiendo en fanática de este artista.
Una de las canciones que se repetía con mayor frecuencia en el playlist de mi padre era Come Fly With Me y no sólo se reproducía a todo volumen cuando nos encontrábamos en casa, sino también cuando íbamos de viaje o simplemente de paseo. Recuerdo que cuando esto último ocurría, mi padre y yo cantábamos la canción a todo pulmón y además resultaba perfecto con el todo el contexto del viaje, pues la canción habla sobre irse a volar lejos juntos y visitar lugares maravillosos.
Era tan fuerte nuestra conexión con esta canción que incluso para un cumpleaños de mi padre le regalé una tarjeta elaborada por mí y que tenía en su portada un dibujo de nosotros dos montados sobre un avioncito de papel...como dato curioso mi padre aun guarda esta tarjeta de cumpleaños. Esta canción simplemente me trae a la mente recuerdos lindos y felices junto a mi papá.
Frank Sinatra has been my father's favorite singer for a long, LONG time and he is so fanatical about him that he has his complete discography on both vinyl and CD. I remember that when I was a child my father would play Sinatra's songs and translate them for me so that I could understand them and that is how I also became a fan of this artist.
One of the songs that was most often repeated in my father's playlist was Come Fly With Me and it was not only played at full volume when we were at home, but also when we went on a trip or just for a walk. I remember when the latter happened, my father and I would sing the song at the top of our lungs and it also happened to be perfect with the whole context of the trip, as the song talks about going to fly away together and visiting wonderful places.
Our connection with this song was so strong that even for one of my father's birthdays I gave him a card that I had made and that had on its cover a drawing of the two of us riding on a paper airplane...as a curious fact my father still keeps this birthday card. This song simply brings to my mind beautiful and happy memories with my dad.
Durante mi adolescencia y pre-adolescencia tuve una etapa donde fui demasiado fiel al punk-rock. De hecho me vestía similar y, evidentemente, escuchaba música de muchas bandas y artistas de este género. Digamos que para aquel entonces mi "artista modelo a seguir" era Avril Lavigne (de hecho todavía sigue siendo una de mis cantantes femeninas favoritas). Recuerdo que tenía su discografía completa que, cabe destacar, escuchaba casi que las 24 horas del día, también veía sus vídeos musicales con demasiada frecuencia y quería adoptar un estilo y un look muy similar al de ella.
Para ese momento yo tenía una vecina que tenía exactamente la misma edad que yo, éramos muy buenas amigas y siempre estábamos juntas viendo películas, ayudando a su mamá a preparar alguna torta, saltando la cuerda o simplemente inventando alguna coreografía de cualquier canción. Realmente nunca nos aburríamos, siempre teníamos algo que hacer y las ideas nunca se nos agotaban. Como pasábamos tanto tiempo juntas yo le terminé transmitiendo mis gustos musicales y viceversa.
Ambas nos convertimos en unas fanáticas locas de Avril Lavigne y para ese entonces recuerdo que nuestra canción favorita era The Best Damn Thing y como también estábamos en esa etapa de crear coreografías de nuestras canciones favoritas, fue imposible no hacerlo con esta canción de Lavigne. Era realmente gracioso porque, casualmente, ambas teníamos de esos pom poms que usan las cheerleaders y también esas faldas cortas plegadas, así que elaborad una pequeña coreografía recreando el outfit rebelde de las chicas del vídeo no era tan difícil. Al escuchar y ver el vídeo musical de esta canción recuerdo de inmediato todos estos momentos y me da un poco de risa pensar en dos chicas de 11 o 12 años tratando de imitar el look de Avril Laving...¡qué buenos momentos! pero junto con la alegría también llega un poco de nostalgia, pues esa amistad tan linda de mi niñez se fue perdiendo con el tiempo. Mi buena amiga terminó mudándose un tiempo después, realmente no demasiado lejos, pero aún así ya era un poco más complicado vernos más seguido. Luego cada una inició la secundaria y conocimos a nuevas amigas y poco a poco nos comenzamos a distanciar sin darnos cuenta, hasta llegar a la actualidad donde casi no hablamos demasiado, pues aparte ella optó por emigrar hacia otro país.
During my adolescence and pre-adolescence I had a stage where I was too faithful to punk-rock. In fact I dressed similarly and, obviously, I listened to music from many bands and artists of this genre. Let's just say that by that time my "role model artist" was Avril Lavigne (in fact she is still one of my favorite female singers). I remember I had her entire discography which, it should be noted, I listened to almost 24 hours a day, I also watched her music videos way too often and I wanted to adopt a style and look very similar to hers.
By that time I had a neighbor who was exactly the same age as me, we were very good friends and we were always together watching movies, helping her mom to prepare some cake, jumping rope or just making up some choreography to any song. We were never really bored, we always had something to do and never ran out of ideas. Since we spent so much time together I ended up passing on my musical tastes to her and vice versa.
We both became crazy Avril Lavigne fans and by that time I remember that our favorite song was The Best Damn Thing and since we were also in that stage of creating choreographies to our favorite songs, it was impossible not to do it with this Lavigne song. It was really funny because, coincidentally, we both had those pom poms that the cheerleaders wear and also those short pleated skirts, so creating a little choreography recreating the rebellious outfit of the girls in the video was not so difficult. Listening and watching the music video of this song I immediately remember all these moments and it gives me a little laugh to think about two 11 or 12 years old girls trying to imitate Avril Laving's look...what good times! but along with the joy also comes a little nostalgia, as that cute friendship from my childhood was lost with time. My good friend ended up moving some time later, really not too far away, but it was still a little more complicated to see each other more often. Then we each started high school and met new friends and little by little we began to drift apart without realizing it, until today where we hardly talk much, because she chose to emigrate to another country.

Bueno este post lo tuve que leer con el respectivo soundtrack que nos comentas, y la de Sinatra más tu historia con tu papá me pareció super poético. Lo imaginé por completo. Sinatra siempre me ha gustado, y su hija también aunque no tiene muchas canciones. De ese álbum de Lavigne me gustó mucho Girlfriend 😎 me pareció super gracioso el video. Pero de la canción que mencionas, uff, totalmente de acuerdo, imitar el look rebelde era una pasión. Todavía me gustan ese tipo de pantalones 😋
Jeje sí, la historia con esa canción de Sinatra es bastante linda 🥺. Increíblemente yo comparto demasiados gustos musicales con mi papá y siento que también ha sido gracias a eso que tenemos una buena conexión padre-hija.
Girlfriend es un súper vacilón. La letra de la canción es como: "Khe!" Jajaja, no es que tenga demasiado sentido ni que deje demasiado a la mente, pero al fin y al cabo da risita🤭
