Hello Ladies, I hope we all enjoyed the week? This is my response to the question for this week. I will be sharing my thoughts on three phases from my own part of the world and of which I am sure other women from other part of the world have thesame history as this.
PHASE 1( OLD ERA)
This when women's world was a total mess. The mentality people have about women and the girl child is so absurd. During this time, women were just seen as object to satisfy sexual pleasures and desire, baby making machine, branded slaves in the name of marriage. They were seen as insignificant in the society so they were never allowed to have education not participate in politics.
We were able to leave that phase thanks to some few women who understands their worth and fought vigorously for freedom from this shackles. Today they are highly respected as heroines. We have the likes of Lisabi from Ogun state, Efunsetan aniwura,olufunmilayo Ransom kuti to mention a few. who refused to live a life many other women taught was normal. After this women remarkably leave a mark in history, the society started seeing women in another light coupled with civilization.
PHASE 2(PRESENT TIME)
Women have been able to overcome many hurdles to prove to the world that their gender is never a barrier to what they can achieve. They've proof themselves and earned alot of respect in different fields of life. Women now have good education, participate in politics, pursue their career and dreams, finance the home and have the choice to choose what they want for themselves Nevertheless, they're still some lapses and gender inequality still prevails because of some reasons.
- Religion
- Wrong Parenting
Some religion still encourage gender inequality in their adopted doctrine. Also, the home too is very important as that makes up a nation. Parents have a lot to do in training their children to accept gender equality and give confidence to the girl child and training the boy child to stand up for injustice against the girl child.
PHASE THREE(FUTURE)
I see a new world where gender equality is no longer a issue. A world where women are accorded equal respect as men, given equal opportunity and rights as men. This is only possible if all women see the need for it. Let's stand up for ourselves. Support each other, encourage one another, so that together we can end this injustice against women and create a better world for the coming generation.
