Hi everyone, I'm new to this community. I was scrolling through various communities when I discovered ladies of hive. After reading through the activity log, I discovered a lot of interesting things and decided to join the contest. I will be answering the question;
-What was the most devastating event of your life? Express your feelings and how you coped.

Before I continue, I will like to invite @maureena

It happened a long time ago. I was ten when I broke my left hand. Although it was a long time ago, the incident is still fresh in my mind.

As a little kid at that time, I was obsessed with the DC superhero Superman. I thought I could fly because he could. I can still remember the pain I felt when I fell down with my elbow from a very high window. I felt pure pain, I had cried out in agony. My parents rushed me to the hospital when they found out the bone was broken. But unfortunately, the hospital had rejected me.

My dad had driven us to various hospitals, but they all rejected us. We were told that the best option was to cut off the arm. I was so scared that I was going to lose one of my arms. I cried bitterly when I imagined myslf without one arm.

But you know, there is always light at the end of every dark tunnel. My dad's friend introduced us to a bone specialist which gave me hope.

Even though school was still in session, I coped by wearing slings to school. I combined my school work with the specialist appointments. Even though I was a left handed person, through the support of my friends and family, I learnt how to write with my right hands because I was determined to pass. The road to recovery was a very tough one but I thank God I conquered it.

there is always light at the end of every dark tunnel ❤️

No matter how bleak things seem, there is always light at the end of every dark tunnel. Luckily, you found a specialist, and t's good you had the support of friends and loved ones throughout this difficult time.

Thanks for sharing !LADY

You have already used the number of tips you had for the day. Please try again tomorrow or buy more LOH tokens to send more tips.

Yeah, the support of my friends and family really helped me. Thanks for visiting my post.

Well now you know you cannot fly, but can write with both hands, determination drove you to concur becoming right handed to complete your exams. Well done a hard way to learn, something you will never forget.

!LUV

yeah, I was determined to pass and I learnt my lesson in the hard way. Thanks for visiting my post.

We do crazy stuff when we young, one day you will laugh about it when telling the young ones why they cannot fly ☺️

Yeah... that's true.

"Cut off the Arm?!" They got to be joking.
Things sound like they took a turn for the better. And here I broke my right shoulder twice in separate bike commute accidents and it may cut my Nursing career a little shorter than I expect it.

Yeah.. So sorry about your shoulder, I hope you are okay and I pray it doesn't affect your nursing career.

You're welcome...yeah am better now😌
