¡Hola a todos! Tengo un gato color negro llamado Ikki que es tranquilo la mayoría del tiempo, pero de vez en cuando puede ser algo travieso. Hoy les contaré algo que pasó hace poco y que me pareció aparte de divertido, sumamente tierno.
Hello everybody! I have a black cat named Ikki who is quiet most of the time, but can be a bit mischievous from time to time. Today I will tell you something that happened recently and that seemed to me apart from fun, extremely tender.
¿Qué historia divertida o linda de mascotas tienes? / What funny or cute pet story do you have?
Mi novio y yo estamos residenciados junto a nuestro gato Ikki. La casa cuenta con varias habitaciones que están alquiladas y una de ellas es donde vivimos por los momentos. En la sala de la casa estaba ubicada una lotería, por lo que la dueña bajaba todos los días a atenderla. Solemos permitir que ikki salga al jardín en el día y para ello tiene que salir del cuarto, pasar por un pasillo, la sala y finalmente llegar a su destino.
My boyfriend and I are living with our cat Ikki. The house has several rooms that are rented and one of them is where we live at the moment. A lottery was located in the living room of the house, so the owner came down every day to attend to it. We usually allow ikki to go out to the garden in the daytime and for this he has to leave the room, go through a corridor, the living room and finally reach his destination.
Para mayor comodidad, solemos dejar la puerta del cuarto medio abierta para que Ikki entre o salga mientras su horario de salida está "activo". Por lo que es habitual que él abra la puerta sin dificultad como si fuera un gato con mucha fuerza (porque la empuja con ganas ja ja). Resulta que un día entró a la habitación más apresurado que lo normal, siempre lo observo cuando abre la puerta desde mi mesa de trabajo y vuelvo a mis actividades, pero esa vez me le quedé viendo, había algo que llevaba en su hocico (cosa extraña viniendo de él). Detuve el trabajo pues pensé que se trataba de algún insecto o algún animal, pero al mirar más de cerca me di cuenta de lo que realmente llevaba consigo: Un bocadillo o dulce de plátano. Para los que no sepan, en Venezuela estos dulces tradicionales hechos con plátanos maduros, los suelen vender recubiertos con un plástico transparente.
For convenience, we usually leave the room door half open for Ikki to enter or exit while his departure time is "active." So it is usual for him to open the door without difficulty as if he were a cat with great force (because he pushes it with desire ha ha). It turns out that one day he entered the room more hurriedly than normal, I always observe him when he opens the door from my work table and I go back to my activities, but that time I kept looking at him, there was something he was wearing in his snout (strange thing coming from him). I stopped work because I thought it was some insect or some animal, but when I looked closer I realized what he was really carrying: a sandwich or banana candy. For those who do not know, in Venezuela these traditional sweets made with ripe bananas are usually sold covered with a transparent plastic.

Cabe mencionar que la escena me pareció de los más tierna. Era la primera vez que veía a Ikki traer algo desde otro lugar hasta su "territorio", así que me imagino que él estaba feliz con su cacería. La cuestión era la siguiente: ¿De donde había sacado Ikki aquel dulce? al no encontrar respuesta lo dejamos pasar y colocamos el dulce fuera del alcance de mi gato. Grande fue mi sorpresa cuando Ikki volvió a salir y al regresar trajo otro paquetito de dulce de plátano, se lo quitamos y... ¡Lo volvió a hacer! Seguía pareciéndome tierno la manera en la que él entraba casi corriendo al cuarto con su "presa", pero era obvio que Ikki estaba sacando esos dulces de algún lado. Empecé a creer que los estaba tomando de algunas de las habitaciones vecinas, lo que dejaba a Ikki como todo un gato delincuente.
It is worth mentioning that the scene seemed to me the most tender. It was the first time I had seen Ikki bring something from elsewhere to his "territory", so I imagine he was happy with his hunt. The question was this: Where did Ikki get that sweet? When we did not find an answer, we let it pass and put the candy out of my cat's reach. Great was my surprise when Ikki came out again and when he returned he brought another package of banana candy, we took it from him and ... He did it again! The way he almost ran into the room with his "prey" still seemed cute to me, but it was obvious that Ikki was getting those sweets from somewhere. I began to believe that he was taking them from some of the neighboring rooms, which left Ikki like a rogue cat.

Ya estaba yo viendo la pila de bocadillos de plátano e imaginándome al pobre de Ikki con su ropita de franjas blancas con franjas negras (robándose cosas que fueran más importantes, lo que nos traería problemas con los otros inquilinos) y volviéndome su socia del crimen, cuando a mi novio se le ocurrió la idea de preguntarle a la casera. Fue entonces cuando ella le comentó que en efecto, esos dulces eran de ella. Pero no nos apresuremos en pensar que el gato se los había robado, nada más lejos de la realidad... Resulta que por la mañana la señora había abierto el empaque de dulces mientras atendía la lotería y éste se había roto, cayéndose todos en el suelo. Como la señora tiene algo de peso extra, recogió los que vio, pero era más que obvio que había dejado algunos en el suelo y esos, era los que había estado recolectando Ikki en todos sus recorridos. La historia nos hizo reír. El misterio había sido resuelto. Fui hasta la sala y revisando bien encontré dos dulces más debajo de una repisa. Los juntamos todos y se los entregamos a la casera.
I was already looking at the pile of banana sandwiches and imagining poor Ikki with his white striped clothes with black stripes (stealing things that were more important, which would bring us problems with the other tenants) and becoming his partner in crime, when my boyfriend came up with the idea to ask the landlady. It was then that she told him that those sweets were indeed hers. But let's not rush into thinking that the cat had stolen them, nothing is further from the truth ... It turns out that in the morning the lady had opened the candy package while she was attending the lottery and it had broken, all falling into the I usually. As the lady has some extra weight, she picked up the ones she saw, but it was more than obvious that she had left some on the ground and those were the ones that Ikki had been collecting in all his travels. The story made us laugh. The mystery had been solved. I went to the living room and looking closely I found two more sweets under a shelf. We put them all together and handed them over to the landlady.
Luego de eso ikki volvió a traer cosas al cuarto, pero han sido hojas que recoge del jardín para luego jugar con ellas. Pero nunca olvidaré la carita que tenía ese día con su bocadillo de plátano en la boquita. Las mascotas en verdad son una fuente de sonrisas. Amémoslas y cuidémoslas siempre.
After that, ikki brought things back to the room, but they were leaves that she collected from the garden and then played with them. But I will never forget the face she had that day with her banana sandwich in her mouth. Pets really are a source of smiles. Let us love and care for them always.

Like lkki, my grey tabby Runt usually gives me his prize catch of mice and I encourage him and reward him with a treat or give him attention. I really hate mice in and around my home. But Sweet Banana sandwich would be much better than a yucky mouse. A delightful story.

In this case ikki did not give me his hunting prizes, I took them from him ha ha I was afraid that he would try to eat something so sweet 😅 but I admit that ikki is a good hunter, only that he hunts only to play, so if he is not animated , nor does it move ha ha Anyway I am happy that she continues to bring leaves and not dead animals ha ha, thank you for reading her story 🥰
