Today I come to bring you something very special, since I don't do it very often, analog illustration has always been difficult for me despite having a lot of practice.
As the situation calls for it, I decided to try it again, after all, it's not every day you get ready for the first Meetup in Argentina.
I came up with the idea of cartooning a symbol that everyone who was in Argentina could recognize and the obelisk of Buenos Aires seemed to me to be ideal. The idea came to me because when I opened corel draw to work, the banner I designed for the Meetup a few weeks ago appeared.

Hoy vengo a traerles algo muy especial, ya que no suelo hacerlo muy seguido, la ilustración analógica siempre me fue dificultosa a pesar de tener mucha práctica.
Como la situación lo amerita decidí volver a intentarlo, a fin de cuentas, no todos los días uno se prepara para el primer Meetup en Argentina.
Se me ocurrió la idea de caricaturizar un símbolo que todos los que estuvieron en Argentina puedan reconocer y el obelisco de Buenos Aires me pareció idóneo. La idea se me ocurrió porque al abrir el corel draw para trabajar, me apareció el banner que diseñé para el Meetup hace unas semanas.
When I was young and I was still drawing, I remember that I always started with the eyes, I think that in a draw the expression is everything.
Once I finished one, I simply duplicated them to make them symmetrical, sometimes I give them different sizes, but this time I thought they looked good as they were.
Cuando era joven y aún dibujaba, recuerdo que siempre empezaba por los ojos, creo que en una caricatura la expresión lo es todo.
Una vez terminado uno, simplemente lo dupliqué para que sean simétricos, a veces les doy diferentes tamaños, pero esta vez me pareció que quedaban bien como estaban.
The mouth was a challenge, I don't have much experience drawing digitally, so it took me a while. But the smile was expressive so I was satisfied.
Vaya que la boca fue un desafío, no tengo mucha experiencia dibujando digitalmente, así que me tomó un buen tiempo. Pero la sonrisa quedó expresiva así que quedé conforme.
The hands are always the most complex part.
Believe it or not I spent an hour just to make it look like a hand
Las manos siempre son la parte más compleja. Aunque no lo crean estuve una hora solo para conseguir que parezca una mano a simple vista.
I was afraid that the Mate would not look good, but the truth is that I did it intuitively and at an amazing speed. The only thing left to do was to put the hand holding it, something relatively simple.
Tenía temor de que el Mate no quede bien, pero la verdad lo hice intuitivamente y a una velocidad asombrosa. Solo restaba poner la mano que lo sostenía algo relativamente simple.
The final step: With a World Cup on our heels, in a very soccer-loving country, the natural culmination seemed to me to put the classic sky-blue and white shirt. It was a challenge to adapt it to the perspective of the obelisk, but with some patience I was putting it together until I got the result I was looking for.
El paso final: Con un mundial de fútbol pisandonos los talones, en un país muy futbolero, la culminación natural me pareció ponerle la clásica camiseta celeste y blanca. Fue todo un desafío adaptarla a la perspectiva del obelisco, pero con algo de paciencia fui armándola hasta tener el resultado que buscaba.

The Slogan
I had several problems when deciding on a slogan, I had to come up with several. Slogans have to communicate
"Creative power" was my final decision, I think it's short but identifying. With something simple it reflects the reality of Hive.
El Slogan
Tuve varios inconvenientes a la hora de decidirme, surgieron varios. Los slogans tienen que transmitir una idea, ser simples, fáciles de recordar y ser llamativos.
"Potencia creativa" fue mi decisión final, creo que es corto pero identitario. Con algo sencillo se refleja la realidad de Hive.
