The Master's Table - An Original Poem

It was dinner time, and I couldn't deny my hunger.
It was palpable—
I was parched; I was in need.

So, I sat at my Master's table;
much yearning in my eyes,
so much love in His.

He broke the bread and blessed it;
I ate,
partook of His Covenant,
of His blessings.

The euphoria
that came with being satisfied,
I couldn't shake off.

He met my every need, filled me up,
my cup ran over.

So, I wondered,
Why me?
Why us?
Why man?
....

He made me realize that it was His choice—

He chose me;
He chose us;
And He chose man—

to love,
to save,
and to bless.

So, I am forever grateful,
for I sit
at my Master's table.
