When we first started putting this garden together we had very limited resources. It was a regular grass yard, and we knew that we didn't want to till it.
We dug holes for the plants, added some old mulch, add the plant, top it with some shredded paper and then a layer of cardboard.
We got the old mulch from a guy out of town, and we didn't have enough to really complete the whole vision, so there was alot of visible cardboard.
This passed week a friend of ours showed us that there is a "green dump" just about a mile from our house. People dump there yard trimmings and tree leftovers there.
When we went to check it out we found mountains of beautiful mulch. So we have already taken about 10 trips to get mulch. We have 4 large totes that we fill up each time.
