Hablemos de Autismo || Let's talk about Autism - INICIATIVAZUL N°2

Blue greetings from the Mundo Autismo team 💙

After several months, #IniciativAzul N° 2 has arrived, in the Let's Talk about Autism Section, so that we can grow together by sharing information, concerns and anecdotes about our experience or that of others that relate to the life of the blue world. This section, besides being an informative place, is a window for the presentation of different initiatives in order to address various topics related to autism.

Taking advantage of the fact that a few days ago, exactly on February 18, the International Asperger's Syndrome Day was celebrated, we wish to give the opportunity of expression to other users who have experience, knowledge, anecdotes or simply edifying thoughts to share related to this type of autism.

Also, from this space there will be room for all those who have doubts to present them and have them clarified thanks to the interaction between the members and visitors of the Autism World Community. Thus, we can all benefit from learning together, stimulating participation and the exchange of knowledge.

LET'S TALK ABOUT AUTISM
Topic: Asperger Syndrome.

The invitation in this edition is to learn about the so-called Asperger's Syndrome, which belongs to the Autism Spectrum Disorder.

portada.Eng.png

Autism World Information 💙

There are three levels or degrees of autism: mild, moderate and severe. The so-called mild autism is, as its name indicates, the mildest level of autism and therefore the most difficult to detect. It is in this group where aspergers and high-functioning mild autistics are found, but without differentiation since 2011. Although there is some debate on this aspect, the fact is that the term asperger's syndrome has fallen into disuse because it was determined that it is a type of autism and not a separate syndrome, being placed in the mild level of the autism spectrum.

Asperger Syndrome and a bit of History 💙

It is necessary to know that on February 18, 1906, Hans Asperger was born in Vienna, an Austrian doctor who was dedicated to the research of autistic behavior in children, so his person gives origin to the term Asperger to describe the mild level of autism. However, for decades there was much controversy regarding the so-called Asperger Syndrome and its existence within Autism until finally since 2011 the so-called Aspergers belong to the type of Mild High Functioning Autism.

Of course, there are differences about when this fusion was made due to the fact that there are still debates among specialists, but the truth is that February 18 has been chosen as the International Asperger Syndrome Day.

Although this date is little known, the birth of Hans Asperger, it is remembered every February 18 to raise awareness about this way of life that stands out within autism for its outstanding aptitude to learn and develop in an exceptional way. This date serves to make special activities of free creativity as there are multiple strategies suitable to capture the call of attention on this type of autism.

An exceptional autism 💙

Something that stands out is that all the so-called aspergers, can develop in many aspects of social life even reach higher academic levels, although with some emotional and social limitations due to difficulties in communication and interaction, which are typical characteristics of the autistic spectrum or disorder.
