It's has a muscular, not because it's diligent in fitness or lifting heavy weights, but that's how it was created. Big eyes protrude, always watch out for prey. Its thick mustache and beard confirmed that it was a mighty insect.

"The Lord of Flies", maybe that's a nickname that suits it. But certainly not "The Lord of Flies" as in the novel by the famous British writer, William Golding. The robber fly's the figure of "The Lord of Flies" that I am referring to here.
"The Lord of Flies", mungkin itu julukan yang cocok untuknya. Tetapi tentu saja bukan "The Lord of Flies" seperti dalam novel karya penulis ternama Inggris, William Golding. Lalat perampok, adalah sosok "The Lord of Flies" yang saya maksutkan di sini.
Whereas flies of other species are often the prey of predatory insects such as dragonflies, spiders, or other predators, robber flies are just the opposite. It's the predator of predators. Dragonflies, spiders, wasps, grasshoppers, moths, or other insects are the prey of the robber fly.
Jika lalat spesies lain sering menjadi buruan serangga pemangsa seperti capung, laba-laba, atau predator lain, lalat perampok justru kebalikannya. Dia adalah predator para predator. Capung, laba-laba, tawon, belalang, ngengat, atau serangga lain, adalah mangsa lalat perampok.
