I generally take a once a month or so drive to my local bonsai retailer to take some pics, check out the new stock and buy some bonsai food for my trees at home.
These conifers are gorgeous and not cheap. I have never owned a conifer I really do love the look and versatility of this tree, come summer I should attempt to grow a few I reckon.
Ficus Ginseng one of my favourite trees, in Pretoria there is a life size one over 1000 years old called the Wonderboom or wonder tree directly translated.
I suspect the folks that made these trees cut them from adult plants and made them into Bonsai a common practice im told. Never the less glorious they indeed are.
