“Getting Seeds from Spring Flowers”
After drying chives and lupinus flowers, I gathered seeds. Last year’s chive seeds started growing chives this year. They’re still small but look healthy.
I like getting seeds from plants and flowers. The process takes a long time to get small seeds but I enjoy the process. Nature’s cycle is like an amazing wheel. After blooming or growing, drying, becoming seeds, planting, and again blooming or growing. However, nature’s process looks stronger than human made processes.
I got lupinus seeds because there were naturally dried on the field. Every year, they make beautiful strong flowers by themselves. I planted last year’s lupinus seeds, it grew just a little bit but it didn’t make a flower this year. I wish it can make a flower next year.
“春の花の種とり”
チャイブとルピナスの花を乾燥させて種を取りました。去年にとって植えたチャイブの種はまだ小さいですが、少しずつ育ち始めました。
わたしは花や植物から種を取るのが好きです。種を取るまでに長い時間を要しますが、そのプロセスが結構好きです。自然界のサイクルは素晴らしい輪のようです。花が咲いたり植物が育ち、乾燥して、種になって、植えて、そしてまた花が咲いたり植物が育つ。でも、自然のサイクルの方が人間の手作業よりも断然強いです。
野原で自然に乾燥したルピナスの花の種を取りました。毎年とても強い花が咲きます。春に去年のルピナスの種を植えました。芽が出て育ったのですが、今年は花がつきませんでした。来年は花が咲いて欲しいです。

乾燥したルピナスです。春にルピナスの花の写真を撮りませんでしたが、白、紫、ピンクのきれいな花がそこらじゅうに咲いていました。
Lupinus seeds look like beans because they belongs to the bean family (Fabaceae). When I take out the seeds, I feel like I am getting green peas or something.
ルピナスの種は豆科の花だけに、豆に見えます。タネを取り出す時、枝豆か何かを出している感覚に似ています。
Dried chive flowers and seeds. I dried them from the middle of June. They’re completely dried but still they smell like chives. I use dried flowers for cooking as herbs, putting into dipping sauces, or putting on salads. I keep some small black seeds for next spring.
乾燥したチャイブの花と種。6月中旬から干しました。完全に乾燥していますが、まだチャイブのにおいがします。花の部分はハーブとして料理に使います。ディップソースに入れたり、サラダに乗せたり色んな料理に使えます。
