Spotted two young Mule Deer bucks sparring outside our guest bedroom window this week. This went on for over 10-15 minutes that I was able to watch, maybe longer. They would spar a bit then walk, spar, then walk around.
It's still late rut season here I believe. I don't know these young 4 pointers will have much luck in finding real love with the bigger boys around, but fun to watch them prepare. Not near as aggressive as the larger bucks were last year, now that was some serious action.
Looks like they're practicing... figuring out what they're supposed to do. They sure give you a nice show, eh?
Yes it is fun to watch. It was much different last year when I saw two of the big boys at it. They were much more serious, crashing into trees, forcing one another down and actually hearing the racks crash against each other. That was my first time at it was amazing to witness the power and strength. This one was fun, but not as impactful.

One of the actual benefits of working from home now is getting to take short breaks and walk to the windows and looking out to the amazing nature! Makes my day to see them just walking around, but this was quite a treat. It lasted much longer.
That is a treat! They are often in my yard but it mostly early morning or just as it is getting dark outside. They seem to have a routine and I seldom see them in the daytime.
