Nice wild flower (EN-UA)

Hello, community! Recently I went to the forest to pick mushrooms and noticed this beautiful flower. It grew on the edge of the forest and looked very beautiful against the background of grass and dark trees. I haven't seen it in our region for a long time... Привіт, спільното! Нещодавно я ходила в ліс по гриби і помітила цю красиву квітку. Вона росла на узліссі і дуже гарно виглядала на фоні трави і темних дерев. Давно я її не бачила у наших краях... Для мене вже традиційно робити кіл і фото і потім старатися щось дізнатися про рослину. Я навіть не знала її назви. Може і вам буде цікаво? Отож, знайомтесь.

Melampyrum nemorosum is an annual semi-parasitic plant of the family Orobanchaceae.
It grows in oak groves, on the edges, among shrubs. In the mountains it rises to a height of 1000 m. Usually the plants grow alone or form small thickets. It is able to parasitize on other plants, being sucked into them by haustoria, thanks to which it receives additional water and mineral nutrition. But it cannot be considered a real parasite, because this species carries out photosynthesis. It blooms from June to August. Flowers secrete a lot of nectar, so Melampyrum nemorosum is considered a good honey plant. And its seeds are spread by ants.
The plant is distributed in Europe, in Siberia.

Перестріч гайовий — це однорічна напівпаразитна рослина з родини вовчкових.
Вона росте у дібровах, на узліссях, серед чагарників. У горах підіймається до висоти 1000 метрів. Зазвичай рослини зростають поодинці або утворюють невеликі зарості. Перестріч гайовий здатен паразитувати на інших рослинах, присмоктуючись до них гаусторіями, завдяки чому він отримує додаткову воду та мінеральне живлення. Але справжнім паразитом його вважати не можна, тому що цей вид здійснює фотосинтез. Квітне від червня до серпня. Квіти виділяють багато нектару, тому перестріч вважається добрим медоносом. А його насіння розповсюджується мурахами.
Рослина розповсюджена на території Європи, у Сибіру.

In the Ukrainian there are many interesting folk names of the plant: brother-and-sister, granma-and-grandpa, Ivan-and-Maria, day-and-night. These names emphasize the beautiful color contrast between the yellow flowers and the purple tips of the leaves (by the way, until recently I thought it was also a flower petals).

В українській мові є багато цікавих народних назв рослини: брат-і-сестра, дідики-й-бабки, іван-та-марія, день-і-ніч. Неважко здогадатися, що ці назви підкреслюють красивий кольоровий контраст між жовтими квітами і фіолетовими кінчиками листків (до речі, донедавна я думала, що це також пелюстки квітки, але тепер розглянула детальніше).
