Only one of our squirrels like avocado. Come and watch him in action.
He is the smallest of the squirrel clan and potters around here in the garden all day long.
A Happy Friday to all and we hope that everyone will have a super weekend.
This little guy has a sharp eye and when he is not burying nuts, he lays up in the tree keeping an eye on our study window.
He knows that we are in here, as he can see us through the window, so whenever I lay nuts out he is down in a flash.
So Marian laid some avocado skins out and I waited with my camera.
Finally here is the evidence left behind and you can see the teeth marks:)
So strange that none of the other squirrels eat avocado pear, as they are all hooked on nuts only. This little guy will even eat the dried worms that Marian lays out for the Robins.
We have a strange cat that appears here in garden and I have sprayed him with water a few times when I hear the squirrels alarm call, but now the Thrushes are gone and the Robins stick to the higher parts of the trees.
I like cats and they come to me, but not when they hunt our birds here in the garden.
Such is life here at the moment and I hope that you have enjoyed the post.

Stunning photographs! We have a large avo tree and the squirrels always (i) bury the avos in the garden and (ii) eat the ones we want to eat! Very naughty. And I really do not like the cats in my garden for similar reasons. And their mating calls in the early morning hours. It is never nice. Hope all is going well!

Yep, we have the same trouble with the gooseberry bush.
Cats are a real problem here, but I keep an eye out for them.

We have the same problem with pecan trees! They pop up everywhere and make nasty taproot systems (nasty if you want to get them out). And the same with gooseberries here as well. They are everywhere. But sometimes the gooseberries are a nice problem to have if they fruit nicely and the squirrels don't get to them.

I am like a zombie today as had trouble sleeping and was up at 2 am. Went to bed at 12 and rolled around for and hour. Stomach trouble.
Yep, Pecan trees are difficult customers and gooseberries are the squirrels favorite here. We only get a handful.

Hmmm.. Yeah this is a first for me! I never see them eating this sort of thing. I don't grow avocados, but there is usually something yummy growing in my garden and they don't touch any of it. I wonder if your guy/gal would eat the hard nut in the center?
We see it regularly, as Marian buys the avos for us to eat and she sets the peels out for the squirrels.
We don't give them the pips (hard nut), as they plant it and we already have 6 avo trees frowing here that the squirrels have planted.
You are lucky that they don't touch the yummy things in your garden, as they even strip our gooseberry bush of its fruits.
