Rock Hyraxes at the ocean!

So the lady sat below the artwork for a photo, but someone else also wanted to sit there.

I will show you some wild Rock Hyraxes (Procavia capensis) in this post and they live freely on the oceans coastline here in the Cape.
Cute little critters that run all over the show, until a dog appears, as then their lookout sounds an alarm and they all disappear in the rocks.
Come and have a look.

There you can see a little rock hyrax sitting below the statue.

"So" he said, "I hope you have brought some food, else there's going to be trouble".

"Yes", the mom said with her baby behind her, we are also waiting for some food".

These little ones had their own garden of Eden down there.

The guys seemed to know that the hyraxes wanted food and they must be locals, as we didn't know.

Yes, and the hyraxes will eat from a human hand.

The rock hyrax , also called dassie, Cape hyrax, rock rabbit, and (in the King James Bible) coney, is a medium-sized terrestrial mammal native to Africa and the Middle East. Commonly referred to in South Africa as the dassie (IPA: [dasiː]; Afrikaans: klipdassie), it is one of the five living species of the order Hyracoidea, and the only one in the genus Procavia

Now I am in trouble, as Marian wants us to back there with some bags of the special bread that she feeds our Egyptian geese.
Can you imagine driving all of those miles just to go and feed Rock Hyraxes?
So humbly I said yes, that we will make a plan, but I didn't say when, as we can do that when I get a call that the whales are breaching.

And That's All Friends!

Note: All photos are my own and taken with a Canon Powershot SX60HS Bridge camera.

We hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.
