Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 144

in Amazing Naturelast year

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 144th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

After unusually warm and sunny October and the beginning of November, autumn has just started to show us its ugly face here in Central Europe. For the past few days, it has been mostly cold, rainy, foggy, dark, humid, slushy and muddy. Not enjoyable outside at all but I still needed and wanted to capture some fresh natural picture for you so earlier today, I was wandering around the park here in the Prague neighborhood of Stodulky, desperately trying to find something nice to photograph. After several meh shots on rain drop close ups, I clicked this not really much greater image of a dying rose flower. Taking decent natural photos will be increasingly difficult from now, that´s for sure...

In the last round, we had 11 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

@tommyl33 with this entry from Malaysia:

I have been into macro photography recently, I´m still learning but I captured some good shot when I was at my wife hometown in Tamparuli, Sabah, Malaysia the last weekend.

Good evening @phortun. Your photo is a wonderful contribution to this contest. On Sunday, I walked to a viewpoint located on Vršački Breg. Near the town of Vršac (Banat, Serbia). From this rock you can see the Banat Plain, a little foggy... When it's a clear day, you can see the Krapatis, which are located in Romania.

@friendlymoose with this entry from the Netherlands:

For this round I share a meadow near The Hague, The Netherlands. I took a picture of this morning when I was cycling to work.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

This photo is from yesterday from my fog hunt! i saw the mountains was cloudy and i drive right into it chasing this foggy photos, i enjoyed the pretty landscape and all the animals i saw in the journey...

Good to see you here man, this is an amazing picture, thank you :) You should normally also add the location but I know it´s from Venezuela so you don´t need to do that ;)

Thanks you really much phortun!

i choose that one because the landscape with the cow are really pretty and the fog makes it more especial jaja

Hey @phortun! Last Sunday, I went to check out the very first signs of upcoming winter (snow and frost) in Jeseníky mountains. Before the noon (as the shot depicts), it was quite nice and sun was even shining. But after the noon, the weather got uglier, sun disappeared and I nearly froze to death. In the end, I enjoyed the hike as it was different, sort of survival adventure🤣

Arctic-like vibes, love it! Very cool scenery, thanks :)

Hi
Looks like I'll be one of the first with a new entry to your contest.
On Thursday, the weather here was just as bad as it was in Prague. It wasn't until evening that the rain settled down to sleep. The clouds parted a little and let the last rays of the sun stand out :-)

Greetings from the beautiful country of Philippines! After a week of being glued to a computer , I know I had to unplug and head outdoor before I lost my mind, lol. So I hiked up the mountain for hours, taking the moment, it's like a pain inside me if I don't see natures, as I am so one with it. Hope you enjoy this photo.🙂

Oh wow, that´s some epic view right there! When did you take this amazing shot? :)

That was yesterday. And today I hiked again closer to the steaming geothermal plantation, even steeper and got nicer view , far and wide. 🙂

Awesome, thank you :)

Hi there! @phortun,

This is my first entry from the mountain of Davao Del Norte Philippines. My sister informed that there is an easy contest since I can't have enough time to write quickly. This is the place where I am teaching with the indigeneous student. We are in the middle of the forest. Our school located in the hill side overlooking the rain forest and the road we pass by our travel going home.

Thank you,
@crazygal

Hey @crazygal! Welcome to the challenge and thanks for this lovely entry from the Philippines! :)

Thank you for a warm welcome here. My heartfelt appreciation and gratitude.

Hello @phortun,

Last Friday morning I went to the sea near to my workplace. It is the Red Sea of Jizan, Saudi Arabia. The other side in this place is Yemen in eastern part. Sudan and Egypt are located in southern part from where I enjoyed taking picture. I had a happy swimming at 7:00 in the morning. You can see the sun in the east.

@olivia08

You are welcome.

Krásná! 🌹
a kde sú kvapičky?

Na okvětních lístcích :)

Hi @tommyl33 l, could you please drop the camera and maybe editing software you used for your capture? Great shot by the way!

Great shots everyone. I was told by someone here on Hive you guys were blessed with the mountain top clouds view up around your area, @phortun. Is that where the guy with that mountain top clouds shot I can’t seem to forget is from as well? Central Europe?

Hi @depressedfuckup . I used Sony A73 with 100 mm f 2.8 canon lenses connected by Viltrox for Canon to Sony mount in this capture. I just increasing some clarity from lightroom. Bdw , thanks for the encouragement :).

Cheers!

Looking it up right now. I bought my phone before I joined Hive, I definitely would’ve cut down on my expense, to buy a simpler phone and get me a camera alongside. Thanks for the info, man.

Hey, the "mountain top clouds guy" is @onlavu and yes, he is from the same country (Czech Republic, Central Europe), we are actually long time RL friends from the same town ;)

Wow I didn’t know. I see you share your love for photography too. You both are great photographers.

Congratulations, your post has been upvoted by @dsc-r2cornell, which is the curating account for @R2cornell's Discord Community.
