Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 76

in Amazing Nature3 years ago (edited)

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 76th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

We have had a very warm and sunny weather here in Krakow, Poland lately so it comes as no surprise that the local parks are packed with people looking for some shade under the trees. Fortunately, the Jordan Park is large enough to still find some privacy. When roaming around the park two days ago, I found this cute little path lined with blooming flowers. Not sure about those on the left but the ones on the right are hydrangeas, one of my favorite flowers that always remind me of the Azores Islands where they are extremely abundant :)

In the last round, we had 9 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

As promised, I am entering to this awesome initiative by @phortun this week after a long time. I already announced in my previous posts that I will be heading to Velika Planina, Slovenia shortly and that happened past weekend. We had an amazing time and manage to capture few good photos as well. Scenery in person is even nicer, especially when you are taking a rest and having someting good for lunch. I will share more photos from this trip in the upcoming days/weeks on my blog as well. Have a great days folks!

This morning I was jogging up to the Byron Bay Lighthouse, Australia on my normal route along the cliff side pathways as I looked down I could see this guy doing some sand art work on the beach, I had heard about this guy who goes by the name of Craig the Sand Artist, but had never seen him or his sand art in action so, this morning, I was quite thrilled to see him at work making the beach look like a art gallery and the art work looked really amazing looked like alien astrology art form.

Yesterday my husband and I got our nature fix at Columbia Bottoms Conservation Area. It is located in North St. Louis County at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. This was our first visit here as I had no idea that it was so close to our home! The Conservation Department plants multiple areas with these beauties as a food source for the local birds, in particular mourning doves. However, it is becoming a popular photo op location. The flowers only last about ten days. Therefore they have staggered their seed planting to afford these breathtaking vistas through mid August. It was bustling with many types of bees but I was able to safely get some pictures with my iPhone. It was hard to pick just one that captured the beauty we witnessed in person.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

This time a picture, that is not that great from composition or colours, but conveys quite a message: Life goes on:

There was a bushfire in Patras on Wednesday. This picture was taken perhaps 10 minutes after the firefighters had subdued the fire in this area (there were still some small flames, but they were dealt with by people from the neighbourhood). This plant had been at the edge of the fire, all the leaves were burnt off, but the berries were still intact. New life in death.

Wow, that´s a pretty intense and emotional picture, thank you very much for sharing it with us. I hope the fire has already been gone by now...

Awesome pick @phortun. Congrats all, Superb snaps 😍
I love the flower captured by you phortun, we do have it in Viet Nam. I like it with the purple colour.
Here is my entry in this round. We're still under lockdown so I'm unable to go out much. The flower photo was taken 3 days ago in our garden here in Da Nang, Viet Nam. I'm not allowed to go outdoor but still manage to enjoy nature in my garden :)

Have a great weekend ahead :)

Hey Trang, thanks for this beautiful close up. I am sorry you are not allowed to go out but you still found a little piece of nature to admire and share with us :)

Hello @phortun, this is a photo I took on my way to a hidden beach called Hai Van Vien in Da Nang on an afternoon last week. This is a beach located at the foot of the mountain and there is no driveway down to the beach so we have no choice but to walk down. And here's a picture I took on my way down to the beach.

Wow, that´s a stunning view, thanks. You managed to sneak out there during the lockdown? Good for you :)

Yeah I cannt stay in the house for a long time. And I know a hidden road to get there, 😁.

Lucky you :) I remember how frustrating it was for me when I had to be locked inside... For several long months actually.

I think I can understand your feeling. Anyway, hopefully the covid will end soon and then we can enjoy nature more often.

Take me there bro. I'm not going to report to police 😆😃

Haha tell me when you are ready! 😁

Hello Phortun. I'm very interested in your challenge. Thanks for your wonderful invitation. And here is my entry for your challenge.😊
This is a picture I took this morning with the little flowers off the balcony of my apartment. I can't go out now, because in my city where I living in the lockdown. Everyone in my city must obey orders to stay indoors. Luckily, I lived in my apartment, and has a balcony just enough for me to plant some flowers, and to be able to enjoy them right now. This picture I took by my phone in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
I hope you like my picture and I wish you sound health.
Good luck to all challenge participants.❣️

Hey there, welcome to the challenge :) Thank you very much for this beautiful photo and all the required info about it. Thinking of you guys in Asia where lockdowns are being imposed again :( Stay strong and healthy!

Thank you for your encouragement. I feel so comforted.🙂

Met this beautiful Pelican this morning having a dip, on my morning jog along Byron Bay beach, I noticed this beautiful bird from a little distance as, I was jogging along , I slowed down to almost a walking pace as not to scare him or her away and as, I approached with my camera armed he or she remained quite calm and un-afraid as they are pretty use to us humans on this beach and know that we will not harm them and got quite a elegant pose for my efforts 😊

Elegant pose indeed :) Beautiful creature, thank you.

Thanks bro 😊

This is the most recent I have taken, it was near a nursery that I visited on the weekend, I liked the silence and solitude of the place.
The neighbors of the nursery abandoraro this property, have always loved the site.

Thanks for your entry. Can you add the location please?

Colombian mountains

Happy day for everyone! This is my entry of the week. Beautiful moriches palm trees located near the national highway of Maturín Venezuela, an image captured last week on an unforeseen trip.

Nice entry, thanks! :)

Hi Phortun, this is my entry.
I took this photo today at a temple in Huế city (I usually visit the temples because they are now quite safe places to relax my mind and close to the nature. And it is also because the temples in my city are often very spacious, covered by significant variety of plants). This is white lotus. The lotus is dying but I see different. It is still full of energy, shining, showing its beauty. And it seems like a butterfly going to take off.. For me, it is really magnifique.
So I would like to share it with all. Hope the photo bring peaceful moments to everyone. 😊🙏

A lot of flower close ups in this round and here comes another one :) Nicely captured, thank you.

My pleasure. ^^ And I also would like to share the picture that I have just taken this morning. Your challenge really inspires me to be nearer the nature. Thanks a lot.

Hello thank you for the invitation to "Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 76".

I share with you, some beautiful Cayenas (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis), that brighten up the garden of my home, they are in two stages, one in full splendour with its beautiful intense pink colour, and the stylised fluorescent pistil, standing out with the radiant sun.... next to it a discreet capullo preparing for tomorrow's blossom...

Photo taken in Lechería, Anzoátegui State, Venezuela.

Cheers, see you soon!

Cayena_30julio.jpg

Lovely close up, thank you :) When did you take it?

Hi, I took the photo the same day I sent it, last week.

Momma deer and her twins!

Just took this shot from my back porch with my iPhone 30 minutes ago. It has not been too conducive to being out in nature for extended periods of time here in St. Louis this week. It was extremely warm this week. We got a nice break with some rain and cooler temps today. Took some time to sit out on my back porch and get some fresh air. We have a healthy deer population in our neighborhood. This is just one family out of many that forage in our backyard. There have been times that we can see three adult females and four fawns at a time. They are cute but I have had to be selective in the plants, shrubs, and flowers I plant outside of our fenced backyard.

Wow, that´s a very cool shot! Thank you :) These guys look pretty laid back :D

Absolutely. These city deer have no fear of humans or dogs! 😂

The morning bird ate the earthworm... With a mobile phone, you really, really can't take a good picture of an animal if you're not lucky.
Park na Sídlišti Bohnice, středa 28.7.2021

Není zvíře jako zvíře. Takový mexický leguán ti ochotně a bez hnutí zapózuje i na 20 centimetrů... Chybí ti tam lokace a datum.

Díky, tahle fotka nemá moc soutěžních ambicí...

Beautiful pictures😎

Thank you :) Feel free to join the challenge.

Thanks man. Nice flower garden you found there 👍

Pleasure as always :) See you in the new round!

Sure will thanks buddy 👍

I am always looking forward to your challenge. That is very interesting 😊
Thank you 🙏

Thanks for your feedback, I am looking forward to your new entry :)
