Today is Sunday. The day seemed gloomy, the sun hid behind thick clouds. It has been very cold in Treviso for two days now. Night frosts reach -3 ° C. The day is a little warmer.
Today I was thinking about where to go in my free two hours. It's good that I had the idea to go to the river Sile and not go from supermarket to supermarket, killing time and spending money.
I got on my bike and went to the river. Although it was cold and deserted, life was raging on the river. It was another show! This action I can watch without stopping. Lots of seagulls floating sitting on the water. Then they immediately burst out screaming and fly up.
The black coots became so round. During the summer, they ate well because you need to burn subcutaneous fat until the cold winter. Coots also have more lush feathers than in summer. Such black balls. They are very agile swimmers and divers. The clear water in the river is very clean now and I watch the coots dive into the water every time to pluck delicious juicy algae at the bottom of the river. Coots have funny white legs. There are no membranes between the fingers, they are just very wide. I love watching the coots splash in the water.
Swans float like white ships, seriously drifting. Their long necks dive into the water to find food. Unlike small waterfowl, swans do everything very slowly, proudly. Snow-white beautiful birds live on the river in complete harmony with the environment. Many residents come to admire these beautiful birds throughout the year.
Another permanent resident of the river Sile and its banks are a large number of red ducks. Ducks often go ashore. They are not afraid of people. The duck was small red, and the drake was slightly larger. The drake has a more elegant choice and a green feather hat on his head. The feathers on the tail are twisted.
Сьогодні неділя. День видався похмурий, сонечко сховалося за густими хмарами. Вже два дні як суттєво похолодало в Тревізо. Нічні морози сягають до -3°С. Вдень трішки тепліше.
Сьогодні я міркувала куди мені поїхати у свої вільні дві години. Добре, що мені спала на думку ідея поїхати до річки Сілє і не ходити з супермаркету в супермаркет, вбиваючи час і витрачаючи гроші.
Я сіла на свій велосипед і поїхала до річки. Хоч було холодно і безлюдно, на річковому плесі вирувало життя. Це була ще та вистава! Це дійство я можу спостерігати без зупинки. Безліч чайок, які плавають, сидячи на воді. То враз зриваються з криком і летять вверх.
Чорні лиски стали такі кругленькі. За літо вони добре харчувалися тому що треба записатися підшкірний жиром до холодної зими. Також лиски мають більш пишніше пір'я ніж влітку.такі собі чорні кульки. Вони дуже спритні плавці і ниряльщики. Зараз у річці дуже чиста прозора вода і я спостерігаю як лиски щоразу ниряють у воду, щоб на дні річки скубнути собі смачних соковитих водоростей. Лиски мають смішні білі ноги. Між пальцями немає перетинок, вони просто дуже широкі. Я люблю дивитися як лиски хлюпаються у воді.
Як білі кораблі, поважно дрейфуючи, плавають лебеді. Їхні довгі шиї занурюватися у воду щоб знайти собі поживу. На відміну від дрібної водоплавної птиці, лебеді все роблять дуже повільно, гордовито. Білосніжні красиві птахи живуть на річці у повній згоді з навколишнім середовищем. Безліч жителів приходять любуватися цими прекрасними птахами на протязі цілого року.
Ще одними постійними жителями річки Сілє і її берегів є велика кількість рудих качок. Качки часто виходять на берег. Вони не бояться людей. Качка мала руда, а селезень трохи більший за розміром. Селезень має більш ошатніше обрання і на голові зелену шапочку з пір'я. На хвості пір'я закручене.

Across the road is another corner of the river that washes the city walls. I love coming here. In summer you can sit on a bench under the winged branches of trees, creating a wonderful shady atmosphere. Especially when the heat is annoying. You can sit on a bench and watch the birds. And here I met a family of nutria. There were three of them. One large nutria and two small cubs.
And today I went to this side hoping to see a nutria. And really, I wasn't wrong. A large red nutria, 50 centimeters long with a long tail, sat on the shore and ate something. She was looking for something by the river. Maybe some tasty roots.
Nutria come from Latin America. The settlement of nutria on other continents was purposeful. But not everywhere they took root due to weather conditions. Nutria can tolerate frosts down to -35 ° C. But they can't live near ice-covered bodies of water because they can't navigate under the ice and die. Also nutrias are not suitable for too hot dry climate.
The nutria has interdigital membranes on its hind legs, which allows the animals to be skilled swimmers. The nutria has muscles in the nose that block the access of water to the nose during diving and due to this feature the nutria can stay under water for up to 10 minutes. The fur consists of a rough long spine and a soft thick undercoat. Nutria fur is waterproof. The tail of the nutria is long, devoid of hair and covered with broad scales. Swimming tail serves as a rudder. Small eyes and ears are on the top of the head. Nutria also have one interesting feature that impressed me a lot. Their long incisors, red or bright orange, grow a lifetime as they wear out.
Today I managed to get closer to the nutria at a distance of one meter. I could see the shiny dark brown fur. Nutria approached me, bared her long red teeth, and I thought she wanted to attack me. After all, I entered her territory and disrupted her quiet life. At first I was even a little scared. I don't know if the nutria could bite me, but I had no desire to take a risk and retreated.

Через дорогу є ще один куточок річки, що омиває міський мур. Я люблю сюди приходити. Влітку тут можна посидіти на лавці під крислатим гіллям дерев, що створюють чудову тінисту атмосферу. Особливо коли дошкуляє спека. Можна сидіти на лавці і спостерігати за птахами. А ще тут я зустріла сім'ю нутрій. Їх було троє. Одна велика нутрія і двоє малих дитинчат.
І сьогодні я перейшла на цю сторону в надії побачити нутрію. І справді, я не помилилась. Велика руда нутрія, завдовжки 50 сантиметрів з довгим хвостом сиділа на березі і щось їла. Вона шукала щось на березі річки. Можливо якісь смачні корінці.
Нутрії походять з Латинської Америки. Розселення нутрій на інші континенти було ціленапрямленим. Але не всюди вони прижилися через погодні умови. Нутрії можуть переносити морози до -35°С. Приплаванні хвіст виконує функцію руля. Маленькі очі та вуха знаходяться на верхній частині голови. Ще нутрії мають одну цікаву особливість, яка мене дуже вразила. Їхні довгі різці, червоного або яскраво оранжевого кольору ростуть все життя по мірі їх стирання.
Сьогодні мені вдалось наблизитись до нутрії на відстань одного метра. Я змогла добре роздивитись блискучу темнокоричневу шерсть. Нутрія підійшла до мене, виставила свої довгі червоні зуби і мені, здається, що хотіла мене атакувати. Адже я зайшла на її територію і порушила її спокійне життя.Спершу я навіть трохи злякалася. Не знаю чи могла б мене вкусити нутрія, але ризикувати я не мала бажання і відступила.
Nutria, as I wrote above, were distributed in Europe through warm shiny fur and delicious dietary meat. In my country, many farms had mini-farms where people bred nutria for fur and meat.
Nowadays, the fashion for natural fur products is receding and few people deal with these animals.
I know that in some countries nutria are considered pests. Nutria can damage drainage systems, canals and shores. Can also destroy crops of corn, roots, etc.
Нутрії, як я писала вище, були розповсюджені в Європі через тепле блискуче хутро і смачне дієтичне м'ясо. В моїй країні в багатьох сільських господарствах були міні ферми, де люди розводили нутрій заради хутра і м'яса.
Зараз мода на вироби з натурального хутра відходить і мало хто займається цими тваринами.
Я знаю, що в деяких країнах нутрій зараховувати до шкідників. Нутрії можуть пошкоджувати дренажні системи, канали і береги . Також можуть знищувати урожаї кукурудзи, коренеплодів І т.д.
