la mala madre se caracteriza por se una planta purificadora de aire, ya que renueva ambientes afectados por monóxido de carbono y formaldehído, presente en barnices, aerosoles y cosméticos. Por eso al ser una planta purificadora de aire, la mala madre es común como planta colgante. Tiene una facilidad de cultivo que la vuelve tan famosa por lo mismo y tiene un rápido crecimiento y se tiene que echar agua continuamente con un contacto al sol medio para que no se queme y cambiar de maceta cada sierro tiempo es esencial porque crecen muy rápido.
