Usually when I take pictures of amazing nature, I make a point of keeping non naturey things like houses, cars, lawn furniture and such out of the frame. However, to show how much snow Mother Nature dumped on us during yesterday's Nor'easter/bomb cyclone/blizzard event (geez, the weather people are getting dramatic with their verbiage...lol), I actually went out of my way to get shots with sorts of reference points when I went out earlier today, this day after the 2022 Nor'easter.
I didn't stay out long though because even though the sun was out, the temps were still stupid cold. During my quick meander with my camera, it was 16F/-9C with a "real feel" (thanks to the wind) of -2F/-19C. Talk about BRRRRR!
All things considered, the storm could've been a lot worse - we had a few power/internet flickers, but no trees or branches fell, and none of us had anyplace we had to go. In fact, our youngest called out of work for the very first time and wasn't happy about it, but realized halfway through the day it was the correct call... although I don't recall her saying, "You were right, mom." Suppose I should ask her about that...lol.
And as per my usual FYI - these were taken in the yard of my Durham, NH home with my Nikon, attached to my tripod. All were resized, then cleaned up a bit with PicMonkey - mostly to tweak the exposure and sharpness.
Day after the 2022 Nor'easter

1. As always, Sandy was very happy to play in the snow, even though it made his paws wicked cold.

2. I think our car is somewhere under that mound of snow...lol

3. Sandy was seriously contemplating jumping into the big drifts of snow, but his chilly paws made him think twice.

4. After just a few minutes, I brought him back up on the porch and sent him inside, and got a shot of the mounds of snow at the same time.

5. Honestly, if it hadn't been for the wind, my husband would've been sitting in this spot at some point today, grilling chicken as a belated birthday dinner for our eldest.

6. Mr Acorn Cap Man got another new cap, as he does most snow storms.

7. Mr Wind got a taste of his own medicine.

8, I didn't get a chance to refill the bird feeders before the snow hit, and just as well, given how hard it would be to find now!

9. Get the feeling this place will be hopping tomorrow, after I get it cleaned up.

10. Not a completely accurate view of how much snow, since plenty of it blew off the steps...

11. .. but it still sorta close to how much we got overall (official for our area was 11.5 inches).

12. Don't think we'll need to dig these out any time soon.

13. Not sure if you can really tell, but as I trudged through this part of the yard, the snow was about halfway up to my knee, and a little deeper in spots.

14. Rounding the corner and coming back to the front of the house, you can see the pile of snow that looks like it will be there until spring (although this is New England, and given the fact that we'll be getting rain and warmer temps mid week, I'm sure it will be gone before long).

15. As I got to the porch again, I turned back to get another shot of the mound and the little pathway our boy cleared from a different angle.

16. And at least the sun is shining again, although it looks like I might need to clean off my camera lens a bit (I'd swear I checked it before I went out).
Hope you enjoyed these shots around my yard from the day after the 2022 Nor'easter

That's a lot of snows! stay warm and have a lot of chocolate. Also, just out of curiosity since you mention NH, have you ever heard of porcfest? I wonder how familiar that festival is for people in that state. It's really cool and one day I'd love to attend that festival.
Yep, chocolate is definitely part of our emergency snow survival kit, @macchiata! 😂
And, YES! I've heard of PorcFest and even considered attending it a couple of times, but it never worked out. I think it's fairly well known in this state, especially in light of the Free State Project getting a good deal of attention (though not all of it good) in recent years. Maybe when Hive moons, we can go together! 😁
So lovely snowy photos!
Thank you for sharing :)
!BEER
Thanks for the beer @katerinaramm and for the kind words. 😊
I haven't been able to send any myself lately, so I'm going to try doing the command at the end as you did, to see if it makes a difference.

LOL! Almost the same reaction I had when you mentioned how hot it got in your neck of the woods the other day. And thanks. 🥰
Amazing! I really enjoyed looking at your photos, I have never seen anything like this in person in my life!
Even for our area, this was a pretty amazing storm, and broke a bunch of records. There are still lots of people without electricity so I'm again considering ourselves very lucky. Glad I was able to share it with you & everyone else and thanks for stopping by! 😊
✌️
Holy Molly that's a lot of snow. How many calories one can burn just by cleaning up the important areas. 🤔 😂
Not nearly enough...lol! Seriously, for all the snow I've shoveled over the years, I should be model thin. 😂
I wish I could help you but you have moved to the other end of the world 😂
To be fair, I've always lived here at the other end of the world... 😆
wen transporter?
The correct answer to that question is SOON 😂
Wowee, that's a lot of snow! ❄️ I love that you're getting stupid cold whether while we're here sweating through one set of clothes after another in stupid hot weather 😈
You said it! Although to be fair, we didn't get as buried as others did, and have had easily twice as much snow in a single storm in recent years (although not such an intense "bomb cyclone" sort of thing 😜). And that's one of the coolest (ha!) things about our international community - getting to live vicariously through each other's weather...lol!
Hope you get a break from the stupid hot weather soon, Caroline. We're having a heat wave ourselves today - got all the way up to 28F/-2C this afternoon!

😂 !LOL That meme is hilarious. I'm sure I'd understand it better if I spent more time there, but still, it's fun. Wooooo! ONLY -2'C for you 🤣🤣🤣
Actually, today's it's even worse. 30'C/86'F but feels like (or real feel as you put it) is 33'C/91.4F. But actually, as I look that up, I really need to find a different spot in the house, because where I'm sitting the sun is hitting this wall and it feels more like 37'C/99'F or more...
Time to move!

I did enjoy those pictures. Likewise on Long Island (NY). Power held firm, thankfully.
A still taken from a video of the dogs in the back yard is attached. They love the snow, but not for very long.
Wow!what a snow, I haven't touch. Here in the Philippines it is super hot. Until now more than a month no electricity yet here in our area mainline post were damaged by super typhoon Odette.
Even your cap got a new long cap too, I can see it's eye and nose poking out through it...🤣
