Esta es una estupenda oportunidad para un nuevo proyecto nuevo de costura. Siempre compro cosas en baratas para remodelar porque me gusta jugar con las formas. A todos nos gusta ser originales y a mí nunca me ha gustado tener el mismo modelo que otra persona. Vivo en un pueblo donde la ropa para niños es de modelos específicos y quise hacer algo nuevo para mi pequeña Olivia.
Presento hoy este proyecto que he comenzado hoy y presento un carrusel de imágenes con lo que espero pueda darme a entender.
Esta es la prenda que usaremos como base o punto de partida, una camisa talla XXL de una tela que es mezcla entre lino y algodón lo que le da cierta rigidez proveyendo algo de suavidad. Pero lo que me enamoró no fue la tela sino el estampado de la libelula y quiero sacarle todo el potencial.
This is a great opportunity for a fresh new sewing project. I always buy cheap things to remodel because I like to play with shapes. We all like to be original and I have never liked having the same model as someone else. I live in a town where children's clothing is model-specific and I wanted to do something new for my little Olivia.
I present today this project that I have started today and I present a carousel of images with what I hope can you understandme.
This is the garment that we will use as a base or starting point, a size XXL shirt made of a fabric that is a mixture of linen and cotton, which gives it a certain rigidity, providing some softness. But what made me fall in love was not the fabric but the dragonfly print and I want to make the most of it.
Como patron quiero usar una blusa sencilla sin mangas, pero ahora quiero hacer una prenda mas larga.
As a pattern I want to use a simple sleeveless blouse, but now I want to make a longer garment.
Con un lápiz para cejas me ayudé y se marcan sobre la tela las lineas que necesitaba para guiarme antes de cortar.
With an eyebrow pencil I helped myself and marked the lines I needed to guide me before cutting are on the fabric.
Por comodidad se separaron la pieza delantera y trasera del la camisa que se iba a remodelar. Como pueden notar esa no es mi mano, mamá me ayudó un poco y quizá tomó demasiado el control.
For convenience, the front and back pieces of the shirt to be remodeled were separated. As you can see that is not my hand, Mom helped me a little and maybe she took too much control.
Aquí ya podemos ver la idea general que va tomando forma.
Here we can already see the general idea that is taking shape.
Con la pieza delantera ya cortada la usamos como base para cortar la parte trasera, dejando la parte del cuello mas alta que la delantera.
With the front piece already cut we use it as a base to cut the back part, leaving the neck part higher than the front part.
Ahora bien, este fue un consejo de mamá, que hiciera un solapado en los bordes de una manera distinta. Ella corta un tramo de tela con la forma del borde y luego lo cose.
Now, this was Mom's advice to do an edge trapping in a different way. She cuts a piece of fabric in the shape of the border and then sews it.
Esta es la manera en que se hizo y aquí puede ver la idea, un borde duro y mas resistente al desgaste.
This is the way it was made and here you can see the idea, a harder and more wear resistant edge.
En la parte trasera del cuello en donde se hizo una endidura para poder poner la prenda con mas facilidad, también se aplica el mismo metodo de solapado del bordillo.
At the back of the neck where a slit was made to be able to put the garment on more easily, the same method of overlapping the curb is also applied.
Y así puedes ver como queda el solapado del bordillo por la parte interior.

Este el el cuello después del hilvanar todo con hilo marron.
This is the neck after basting everything with brown thread.
Finalmente en la espalda se pone un toque especial con un botón grande y oscuro para cerrar.
Finally, a special touch is placed on the back with a large, dark button to close.
Esta es la pequeña modelo, es mi hija Olivia y quizá el vestido le ha quedado un poco grande pero ya crecerá.
This is the little model, she is my daughter Olivia and maybe the dress has been a little too big for her but she will grow.

Por eso dije, ya crecerá, no calculé bien el tamaño pero como acostumbramos a comprar las prendas un poquito mas grandes a los niños pensé que no importaba mucho. Espero poder sacar mas tiempo para coser en el futuro.

Este pueblo es muy pequeño, sufro un poco cuando salgo y aguien tiene una camisa igual a la mia. La creatividad nos distingue un poco, aunque sea un poquito, no me gusta seguir tendencias.
