Happy weekend to you all, I hope you are all doing great, I will be sharing with you the making of this scrunchies hair band with elastic I made for my sister's friend little daughter.
Children are so fun to be with and sometimes they do things that you begin to imagine if they are older than their age 😂😂 few weeks ago, I made a scrunchie hair band for my little nice for her Easter hair because my sister love to make nice and beautiful hair for her daughter and she on the other hand love to have hair accessories fix to her hair to make it look nice and she's happy to have me make different hair band for her. The hair band I made for her was used to hold her hair and her friend who her mom is my sister's friend saw it as my niece show it to her what her aunt made for her and she told her mom she wanted one for herself, when I was told, I promised to make one for her as well but with a different fabric and design.
Let me show you the cutting and sewing process
I measured and cut out 2.5 x 18" from the left over fabric I have
I cut out another piece of 1.5 x 20" for the elastic casing
Elastic band of 0.5 x 8"
Another piece of 2 x 2" was cut out to cover the rough part
Sewing process
The long piece of 1.5 x 20" was folded in two on the wrong side and sewn together
It was turned to the right side and the elastic band was inserted in it and sewn together at both ends
The other piece was folded together on the right side and I used my hand needle and thread to run a long stitch on it to the end and gather it together.
Both were placed together on the end part where the elastic were sewn with the help of a glue
I placed an applique on the rough part to cover and add more beauty to it
On the other side of the scrunchie hair band, I placed the 2 x 2" on it after it was folded and trimmed to a circle shape, it was used to cover the rough part at the back as well
This is the final and beautiful outcome, I believe my niece's friend will like and appreciate it so much.
I tried it on a hair I have at home and it was looking so nice and beautiful.
