Un cojín para él y para mi
Un saludo con abrazo incluido para todos mis amigos y amigas de esta comunidad; espero que estén pasando una buena semana; de la mía les cuento que he estado bastante ocupada publicando y haciendo cosas bellas para mis clientas. Esta semana me encargaron un gorro de bruja para una niña, ya le estoy haciendo el paso a paso y espero pronto podérselos mostrar.
Hoy quise mostrarles como fue el proceso de elaboración de un cojín en forma de cilindro para descansar en las noches cuando veo televisión, a su vez lo hice muy hermoso con los colores de HALLOWEEN y lo quise dedicar a mi plataforma favorita HIVE.
Dicen que detrás de cada cosa que uno hace hay una historia o más bien una inspiración, en este caso mi motivación principal fue dejar de discutir por un cojín cada noche con mi esposo para ver quien se apodera de los cojines desde temprano para ver la televisión. Resulta que yo hace tiempo hice un cojín idéntico a este aprovechando un trozo de jean que me había quedado de uno de mis trabajos. Pues el cojín en forma de caramelo quedó tan bonito y tan cómodo que cada noche toda lo queríamos tener.

El día jueves tomé decisión de hacerme uno especialmente para mí y que nadie me lo toque, será mío y de nadie más. Creo que se me metió un poco la brujita que llevo por dentro y de inmediato procedí a ir juntando los implementos para realizar mi cojín con hechizo incluido ¡¡El que tome este cojín será castigado con mil besos de esta bruja, muuuua ja jajajajajajajajjaja!!

Máquina de coser, hilo, aguja, tijera
Y mucho AMOR para trabajar.
Formula mágica
Lo primero que vamos a elaborar es el cojín de base que servirá como relleno, para eso he cortado una tela quirúrgica que tenía guardada y que estaba en muy buen estado. Las medidas dependen del tamaño de pierna de jean que vayas a utilizar, en mi caso corté un rectángulo de 35x 42.
Luego pase costura recta para unir los extremos más anchos y en los laterales hice un borde de dos centímetros para pasar una cinta con la que vamos arruchar después. Rellenamos y listo. Como ven yo he utilizado para el relleno un montón de retazos de tela de paño y guata que he ido acumulando en mi taller de costura.
A continuación elaboramos los volantes haciéndoles el sistema de arruche hasta llevarlos a la medida que necesitamos tener, basteamos con unas puntadas largas en la orilla para que no se muevan al momento de colocar la otra tela encima y coser.
Cortamos un rectángulo de tela para combinar de 16 de ancho por el largo que mida la pierna de jean, dejamos dos centímetros más de tela para pasar la costura. Cerramos el cilindro y lo pegamos a la tela como se ve en la imagen.
Nota: Este tipo de cosas siempre me gusta bastearlo, es decir, coser o fijar con puntadas largas de hilo par que no se mueva al momento de coser. Es una técnica muy buena, en verdad desde que hago esto y deje de utilizar los alfileres me ha ido mejor y no pierdo tiempo descociendo trabajos mal hechos, como me sucedía antes.
Resultado final
Yo estoy enamorada de mi cojín caramelo; creo que me pasè en la cantidad del último ingrediente "EL AMOR" y ahora voy a tener que repartir muchísimos besos a todo el que lo toque. Ahora cada quien tiene su cojín y ya no hay excusa para discutir. Anoche mismo lo estrené y en verdad quedó muy suave y muy cómodo.

Today I wanted to show you how was the process of making a cylinder-shaped cushion to rest at night when I watch TV, in turn I made it very beautiful with the colors of HALLOWEEN and I wanted to dedicate it to my favorite platform HIVE.
They say that behind every thing you do there is a story or rather an inspiration, in this case my main motivation was to stop arguing for a cushion every night with my husband to see who seizes the cushions early to watch TV. It turns out that some time ago I made a cushion identical to this one using a piece of jean that I had left over from one of my jobs. Well, the cushion in the shape of a candy was so beautiful and so comfortable that every night we all wanted to have it.
Thursday I made a decision to make one especially for myself and no one touches it, it will be mine and no one else's. I think the little witch in me got a little bit inside and I immediately proceeded to gather the implements to make my cushion with spell included. Whoever takes this cushion will be punished with a thousand kisses from this witch, muuuua ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Magic formula
The first thing we are going to elaborate is the base cushion that will serve as padding, for that I have cut a surgical fabric that I had saved and that was in very good condition. The measurements depend on the size of the jean leg you are going to use, in my case I cut a rectangle of 35x 42.***.
Then I sewed a straight seam to join the wider ends and on the sides I made a two centimeters border to pass a ribbon with which we will tuck later. Fill and ready. As you can see I have used for the filling a lot of scraps of cloth fabric and wadding that I have been accumulating in my sewing workshop.
Next we make the ruffles making them the system of ruche until we get them to the size we need to have, we just need a few long stitches on the edge so that they do not move when we place the other fabric on top and sew.
Cut a rectangle of fabric to combine 16 wide by the length that measures the jean leg, leave two more centimeters of fabric to pass the seam. Close the cylinder and glue it to the fabric as shown in the picture.
Note: I always like to baste this kind of things, that is to say, sew or fix with long stitches of thread so that it does not move when sewing. It is a very good technique, actually since I do this and stop using the pins I have done better and I do not waste time unpicking bad work, as it happened to me before.
I'm in love with my caramel cushion; I think I overdid the last ingredient "LOVE" and now I'm going to have to give lots and lots of kisses to everyone who touches it. Now everyone has their own cushion, there is no more excuse to argue. I just used it for the first time last night and it was really soft and very comfortable.

When I started I didn't know which fabrics to choose, I have several nice scraps that I have saved for something special, but I took these for the halloween theme and also because it is somewhat resistant. I think it can last me a year, then I renew again.
