Desde hace mucho tiempo he querido dejar crecer mi cabello lo más largo que pueda. Pasó por una mala racha por obra de una señora que lo cortó que la verdad no sé qué le hizo pero estuve como dos años con el cabello por los hombros.
Luego de que tomé unas tijeras y lo corté, fue como el motor de crecimiento se activara otra vez y hoy lo tengo casi llegando a la cintura.
Todo esto se los digo porque como ha crecido tan rápido no termino de acostumbrarme a su largo y en ocasiones me molesta un poco en la cara.
Se me ocurrió que una buena manera de controlarlo sería tejiendo un cintillo. Ya desde hace bastante tiempo tenía ganas de tejer uno de este estilo y hoy les comparto una breve explicación de como lo he hecho para que si como yo están pasando por una situación similar o simplemente quieren tener uno igual, puedan seguir este paso a paso.
Así que vayamos entonces a las instrucciones y tejamos juntos un cintillo cruzado. ♥

I have long wanted to grow my hair as long as I can. He went through a rough patch because of a lady who cut it, I really don't know what she did to him, but I had my hair down to my shoulders for about two years.
After I took a pair of scissors and cut it off, it was like the growth engine kicked in again and today I have it almost waist high.
I'm telling you all this because since it has grown so fast I don't quite get used to its length and sometimes it bothers my face a bit.
It occurred to me that a good way to control it would be by knitting a headband. For quite some time now I wanted to knit one of this style and today I am sharing a brief explanation of how I did it so that if you are going through a similar situation like me or simply want to have the same one, you can follow this step by step.
So let's go to the instructions and knit together a crossed headband. ♥
Lo primero es seleccionar el hilo y la aguja con la que vayamos a trabajar. Yo he utilizado una lana suave color crema que es un poco gruesa y una aguja de 5 mm.
Ahora para la base del cintillo es necesario tejer una gran cadeneta. El largo lo determinará el grosor del hilo y la persona que vaya a utilizar este cintillo.
Yo hice una medida estándar para adulto que consta de 80 cadenetas con este hilo.
The first thing is to select the thread and the needle with which we are going to work. I have used a soft cream-colored yarn that is a bit thick and a 5 mm needle.
Now for the base of the headband it is necessary to knit a large chain. The length will be determined by the thickness of the thread and the person who will use this headband.
I made a standard size for an adult that consists of 80 chains with this thread.
Ahora sobre estas cadenetas vamos a tejer puntos bajos. El diseño de este cintillo quise hacerlo sencillo, que pudiera relajarme un rato mientras lo tejía, sin contar muchos puntos.
Igual quise crear un efecto lindo en él, por lo que tejí estos puntos tomando únicamente la hebra de atrás de cada punto de base.
Con esto lograremos un efecto tipo zig zag en el tejido, crearemos como especie de ventanillas. Este es el tejido que se usa para hacer la pretina de muchas piezas tejidas, aunque esta vez tendría un uso diferente, representaría solo un lindo detalle.
Now on these chains we are going to knit low points. I wanted to make the design of this headband simple, so that I could relax for a while while I knitted it, without counting many stitches.
I still wanted to create a cute effect on it, so I knitted these stitches taking only the back strand of each base stitch.
With this we will achieve a zig zag effect in the fabric, we will create a kind of windows. This is the fabric that is used to make the waistband of many woven pieces, although this time it would have a different use, it would only represent a nice detail.
Este cintillo lo puedes tejer del grosor que más gustes pero para que podamos crear el efecto de cruzado es necesario que cuente con un mínimo de 10-12 vueltas.
En mi caso quería que luciera como un cintillo más que un turbante, por eso no lo hice tan grueso.
You can knit this headband in the thickness that you like, but in order for us to create the crossed effect, it must have a minimum of 10-12 rows.
In my case I wanted it to look like a headband rather than a turban, so I didn't make it too thick.
Una vez terminado el tejido vamos a cruzar ambos extremos, colocándolos en forma de C y los vamos a entrelazar como se muestra en la primera imagen. No vamos a cortar aún el hilo, solo vamos a sacar la puntada para que no se deshaga el tejido y dejaremos un excedente de unos 30 centímetros.
Con este hilo y una aguja de bordar (o también puedes usar tu ganchillo), vamos a coser ambos extremos. Puedes darle una o dos vueltas de costura para que quede más seguro.
Once the fabric is finished, we are going to cross both ends, placing them in the shape of a C and we are going to intertwine them as shown in the first image. We are not going to cut the thread yet, we are only going to remove the stitch so that the fabric does not come undone and we will leave a surplus of about 30 centimeters.
With this thread and an embroidery needle (or you can also use your crochet hook), we are going to sew both ends together. You can give it one or two turns of the seam to make it more secure.
Al finalizar hacemos un nudo, cortamos el excedente de hilo y damos la vuelta al tejido.
Ahora sí esta listo nuestro cintillo tejido a crochet con efecto cruzado en la parte delantera.
Como le dije al principio es bastante sencillo de hacer y el efecto que da el tejer unicamente por la hebra de atrás de cada punto es súper lindo.

At the end we tie a knot, cut the excess thread and turn the fabric inside out.
