Hi, this is my first participation in the Community Needle Work Monday many years ago my husband bought me a Singer sewing machine (Facilita) and I started a sewing workshop that I could not finish because I started working.
However I have done the basics, cushions for furniture, curtains, clothing arrangements for the family, when I saw the theme of the OCD contest, I took out the machine and got to work.
Hola, esta en mi primera participación en la Comunidad NeedleWorkMonday , hace muchos años mi esposo me compro una maquina de Coser Singer (Facilita) y comencé un taller de costura que no logre terminar por que comencé a trabajar.
Sin embargo he realizado lo básico, cojines para los muebles, cortinas, arreglos de ropa para la familia, cuando vi el tema del concurso de OCD, saque la máquina y me puse a trabajar.

Buscando en Internet patrones, me encontré uno que me pareció genial, ya que por su forma te deja un poco de espacio para hablar y respirar mejor.
Cloth Face Mask/ Mascarilla de tela.
Processing time: 1 to 2 days
Tiempo de elaboracion: 1 a 2 dias
Materials:
- Cotton fabric
- Scissors.
- Thread
- Sewing machine
- 02 Garters or strips 01 of 28 cm and the other one of 24 cm.
Materiales:
- Tela de Algodón
- Tijera
- Hilo
- Maquina de coser
- 02 Ligas o tiras 01 de 28 cm y la otra de 24 cm.
Procedure:
Download the pattern : here
Fold the fabric in 4 and cut the pieces flush with the pattern, since you have added 1cm seam allowance.
Cut the pleats.
Start sewing:
Place the 2 pieces face to face and sew only the rounded edge with straight stitching.

Doblar la tela en 4 y cortar las piezas al ras del patrón, ya que tiene agregado 1cm de costura. Cortar los pliegues.
Comenzar a Coser:
Colocar las 2 piezas cara con cara y coser solo el borde redondeado con costura recta.
Fit the 4 pieces together and leaving the seams on the outside as shown in the picture, sew the sides and then flip over.
Encajar las 4 piezas y dejando las costuras por fuera como esta en la foto, coser los laterales y luego voltear.
Coser un pespunte a medio centímetro para que las costuras queden bien asentadas.
Fold where the stitch is and sew.
Doblar donde esta el piquete y coser
Place the strips or rubber band and place the rectangle of fabric 6cm x 2cm x 3 cm high on top, as shown in the photo and sew.
Colocar las tiras o goma elastica y encima colocar el rectángulo de tela de 6cm x 2cm x 3 cm de alto, como esta en la foto y coser.

Muy útil en esto días, sobre todo cuando te lo exigen! lamentablemente las mascarillas hechas en casa solo sirve para los demás, mas no protegen el que la usa! saludos.
Hola, las mascarillas en general no funcionan solas, deben ir acompañadas del lavado de manos y de la distancia segura.
En Venezuela la mayoría usamos mascara de tela, por que las mascarillas desechables son costosas y no se pueden lavar hay que usar y botar.
Las N-95 son exclusivas para el personal de salud, sin embargo hay personas que las compran para su uso personal.
A las mascarillas de tela también se le puede colocar un filtro desechable, hay infinitas posibilidades

So glad you were able to dust off your machine and get sewing again :) I do like the room his mask has, it’s important to be comfortable especially for longer wear.
