Estas semanas estaba divirtiéndome retando a mi mente (jaja) con diseños nuevos. Cierto, pensé hacerle video tutorial a este pingüino, el detalle es que saldría más grande porque utilizaría hilo de algodón. Actualmente mide 6cm y fue tejido con hilo macramé (nylon) con un crochet menor de 2mm (grosor del ganchillo).

These weeks I was having fun challenging my mind (haha) with new designs. Right, I thought of making a video tutorial for this penguin, the detail is that it would be bigger because I would use cotton yarn. Actually it measures 6cm and was knitted with macramé yarn (nylon) with a crochet of less than 2mm (thickness of the crochet hook).

Lo particular de este diseño / The particularity of this design

Para la base del cuerpo tejí una pieza ovalada, luego subí tejiendo filas de medios puntos bajos. A medida que llegaba a cuello tejí disminuciones semejando una figura triangular.

La cabeza fue ligeramente ovalada. Al inicio pensé tejerle el rostro por separado, tipo un aplique y luego coserlo...eso solo quedó en idea porque me gustó más cómo quedó con el intercambio de color.

For the base of the body I knitted an oval piece, then went up knitting rows of low half stitches. As I reached the neck I knitted decreases in a triangular shape.

The head was slightly oval. At the beginning I thought of knitting the face separately, like an appliqué, and then sewing it on...that only remained an idea because I liked the way it looked with the colour interchange.

Al final tejí el aplique blanco para el cuerpo.

Cuando son diseños pequeños (como Olaf), por lo general tiene partes aún más pequeñas. Es allí donde entran los maravillosos "hilos de bordar". En este caso los utilicé para el pico, las patas y los lacitos personalizados.

At the end I knitted the white appliqué for the body.

When they are small designs (like Olaf), it usually has even smaller parts. That's where the wonderful "embroidery threads" come in. In this case I used them for the beak, the legs and the personalised ribbons.

Dato curioso: Es la primera vez que tejo con hilo nylon o macramé y sí es totalmente distinto al hilo de algodón, jaja. Este tipo de hilo es recomendado para los llaveros, al no contar con una gama de colores no los uso tanto. / It's the first time I knit with nylon or macramé thread and yes, it's totally different from cotton thread, haha. This type of thread is recommended for key rings, as I don't have a range of colours I don't use them as much.
