Hace un tiempo realicé algunas compras de hilos y accesorios que llamaron mi atención. En Perú, este último año las empresas dedicadas al rubro de los hilos aumentaron. Esto permite tener más opciones al momento de elegir un buen material para el tejido de amigurumis. Menciono esto porque aquí abundan las empresas dedicadas a lanas, siendo esta materia prima para el tejido de prendas de vestir principalmente.

Some time ago I made some purchases of yarns and accessories that caught my attention. In Peru, this last year the number of companies dedicated to the yarn industry has increased. This allows us to have more options when choosing a good material for amigurumi knitting. I mention this because here there are many companies dedicated to wool, being this raw material mainly used for knitting garments.

En un comentario, @jicrochet tenía curiosidad sobre “el grosor de los hilos y el impacto en el resultado”. Una de las respuestas a eso y según mi experiencia, los mejores hilos son los de 100% algodón Tanguis y los hay de 4 y 8 hebras. Hay otra marca muy conocida también, pero su composición es mezclado con acrílico.

In a comment, @jicrochet was curious about "the thickness of the yarns and the impact on the result". One of the answers to that and according to my experience, the best yarns are 100% cotton Tanguis and there are 4 and 8 strands. There is another well known brand too, but its composition is mixed with acrylic.

Hilos mesclados / blended yarns

Este año #Astral ecoamigable, trajo estos hilos con chispitas los cuales son orgánicos y combinados con hilos reciclados. Se ven ligeramente más delgados a los de 4 hebras comunes y las hebras se sienten algo sueltas. Espero esto no sea un problema al momento del tejido.

This year #Astral eco-friendly, brought these sparkling yarns which are organic and combined with recycled yarns with recycled yarns. They look slightly thinner than the usual 4 strand yarns and the strands feel a bit loose. I hope this won't be a problem when knitting.

Fibra de alpaca e hilos de colores / Alpaca fibre and coloured yarns

La imagen de la izquierda no es hilo, sino fibra de alpaca. Tengo planeado realizar algunos tejidos con fibras naturales. La imagen derecha muestra una combinación de colores pasteles divertidos. A esto me refiero cuando digo que me encanta ver la combinación de colores al azar, es decir al momento de comprar llevo una lista de colores (entre repetidas y nuevos), y cuando los recibo vienen en grupos de 6 madejas y distribuidos de esa manera (full inspiración, jaja).

The image on the left is not yarn, but alpaca fibre. I plan to do some weaving with natural fibres. The image on the right shows a combination of fun pastel colours. This is what I mean when I say that I love to see the combination of colours at random, that is to say, when I buy I take a list of colours (between repeats and new ones), and when I receive them they come in groups of 6 skeins and distributed in that way (full inspiration, jaja).

Ojitos de seguridad / security eyes

Recuerdo la 1era vez que tenía en mis manos los ojitos de seguridad, desde ese momento sentía que estaba cada vez más cerca a ofrecer un producto de la mejor calidad. Los ojitos eran de 7, 8 y 10mm de diámetro. En esta segunda compra que realicé fueron de 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14 y 16mm. Lo cual, me permitió sacar diseños de tamaños medianos como Timoteo. Este tipo de ojos ahorra tiempo comparado con los ojos bordados, el cual me tomaba 2 horas y de regalo los dedos lastimados.

I remember the first time I held the safety eyelets in my hands, from that moment on I felt that I was getting closer and closer to offering a top quality product. The eyes were 7, 8 and 10mm in diameter. In this second purchase I made they were 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16mm. This allowed me to make medium sized designs like Timoteo. This type of eye saves time compared to embroidered eyes, which took me 2 hours and gave me sore fingers.

Accesorios / accessories

Los mini botoncitos de madera y el letrero de hecho a mano de trupán, los compré para lanzar colecciones de amigurumis tamaño mediano. Ambos irán cosidos en las ropas de los protagonistas…Quizá sean cosas mías pero si los cosiera en el cuerpo, sentiría que los estoy lastimando y eso no lo aceptaría de ninguna manera.

The mini wooden buttons and the handmade trupan sign, I bought them to launch medium sized amigurumi collections. Both will be sewn on the clothes of the main characters... Maybe it's just me but if I sew them on the body, I would feel like I'm hurting them and I wouldn't accept that in any way.

A seguir aprendiendo / to continue learning

Hace un par de meses nuestras amigas de #tejiendoperu sacaron su libro el cual tiene proyectos interesantes. Hay en 2 palitos y en crochet. Tal como lo pensé, el tejido en 2 palitos es un mundo y me sorprendo cada vez más de todo lo que se puede tejer y todavía en diferentes tallas. En cuanto a la sección de amigurumis, si bien no existen abreviaciones universales, creo que las abreviaciones varían en el tiempo y eso confunde un poco a parte del idioma claro está. O quizá sea una combinación entre las abreviaciones utilizadas en las prendas tejidas a crochet y los amigurumis. De todas maneras tengo algunas dudas.

A couple of months ago our friends from #tejiendoperu released their book which has some interesting projects. There are in 2 sticks and crochet. Just as I thought, knitting on 2 sticks is a world of its own and I'm more and more surprised by how much you can knit and even in different sizes. As for the amigurumis section, although there are no universal abbreviations, I think the abbreviations vary over time and that's a bit confusing, apart from the language of course. Or maybe it's a combination of the abbreviations used in crochet and amigurumis. Anyway, I have some doubts.

Dato curioso: Con los hilos, lanas (por el grosor) y fibras que tengo pronto realizaré un post sobre el grosor de los hilos y el impacto en el resultado. Como ya no compro lanas tengo colores limitados y eso hace que analice más qué tejer con cada material. / With the yarns, wools (by thickness) and fibres I have I will soon do a post about the thickness of the yarns and the impact on the result. As I don't buy wool anymore I have limited colours and that makes me analyse more what to knit with each material.

Gracias por esta recopilación, admiro mucho a Tejiendo Perú, entre mi lista de deseos está en adquirir su libro, tejen precioso y con muy buena técnica. Creo que tú también puedes hacer un libro😉

Definitivamente, prefiero tejer amifurrumis en hilo de algodón.

De acuerdo contigo, en colocar los letreros en la ropita del amigurrumi, el cuerpo tiene vida, está moldeando perfectamente.

Ese hilo de fibra alpaca se ve interesante.

El libro de Tejiendo Perú está variado, no sé por donde empezar. Sobre la fibra de alpaca hay varios detalles allí, el que tengo es para ropa, es decir no pica. Hay otros que son para accesorios como cojines...eso lo escuché en una charla. Gracias por comentar y ¡Buenas vibras!.
