¿Qué inspiró esta creación?
What inspired this creation?
Tengo una prima muy querida que estuvo revisando a detalle mi cuenta de instragram para saber qué seleccionar para un regalo que quería hacer a una beba que recién ha llegado a este mundo. Luego de la revisión, me contactó y me pidió le hiciera una mariposa y una jirafa.
La jirafa ya la tenía e inventario, me tomé el atrevimiento de hacerle una manta de apego que hiciera juego con la jirafa, ya que consideré que la mariposa no hacía juego.
I have a very dear cousin who was reviewing my Instagram account in detail to find out what to select for a gift she wanted to give to a baby who has just arrived in this world. After the review, she contacted me and asked me to make her a butterfly and a giraffe.
The giraffe already had it and inventory, I took the audacity to make an attachment blanket that matched the giraffe, since I considered that the butterfly did not match.

Como el resultado de esta creación será para una bebé, necesariamente, los hilos que utilicé eran de algodón en dos tonos rosados. También usé tijeras, marcador de puntos, algodón antialérgico, ojos de seguridad y aguja lanera.
As the result of this creation will be for a baby, necessarily, the threads I used were cotton in two pink tones. I also used scissors, a stitch marker, anti-allergic cotton, safety eyes and a yarn needle.
Te cuento cómo tejí la manta de apego
I will tell you how I knitted the attachment blanket
Estaba muy contenta de retomar mi tejido, así como tenía tiempo sin publicar por acá, también llevaba tiempo sin tejer. El tomar mis ganchillos y recrearme entre puntadas es una de mis cosas más favorita de mi vida.
Tomé mi ganchillo y comencé a tejer lo que sería la cabeza de una jirafa, luego de llevar un cuarto de tejido cambié de color de hilo, y a mitad de tejido coloqué los ojos de seguridad.
Llegó el momento de rellenar con algodón sintético, es bien importante que se rellene con suficiente algodón sintético, de tal forma que la pieza luzca firme.
The time has come to fill with synthetic cotton, it is very important that it is filled with enough synthetic cotton, in such a way that the piece looks firm.
Continué tejiendo y asegurarme de seguir rellenando. Finalmente, cerré la cabeza y escondí los hilos restantes.
Para mí, es emocionante ver cómo se va formando la cara de la jirafa, es un momento de mucha plenitud.
I continued knitting and making sure to keep stuffing. Finally, I closed the head and hid the remaining threads.
For me, it is exciting to see how the giraffe's face is forming, it is a moment of great fulfillment.
Seguidamente, tejí lo que sería la manta, que representaría el cuerpo de la jirafa. Para ello tejí un círculo intercambiando los colores rosados que usé para la cabeza. Este círculo lo tejí viendo el juego inaugural del mundial del futbol, eso les puede dar una idea de cuánto toma hacer el cuerpo de la jirafa en forma de manta.
Next, I knitted what would be the blanket, which would represent the body of the giraffe. For this I knitted a circle interchanging the pink colors that I used for the head. I knitted this circle watching the opening game of the soccer world cup, that can give you an idea of how long it takes to make the giraffe's body in the shape of a blanket.
Para completar la cabeza de jirafa, tejí un par de orejar y un par de cuernos. Los cuales primeramente ubiqué con alfileres para asegurarme de que la disposición de los mismos fuese simétrica, luego los uní a la cabeza usando agujas laneras.
To complete the giraffe head, I crocheted a pair of ears and a pair of horns. Which I first placed with pins to make sure their arrangement was symmetrical, then attached them to the head using yarn needles.
Finalmente, uní a la manta la cabeza de la jirafa, esta unión la realicé utilizando una aguja lanera, asegurándome que la cabeza de la jirafa estuviese ubicada en el centro de la jirafa.
Finally, I joined the giraffe's head to the blanket, I made this union using a wool needle, making sure that the giraffe's head was located in the center of the giraffe.
Estoy triplemente feliz, porque estoy compartiendo con uds., porque he retomado el tejido y porque este resultado será la compañía de una beba de amor. Gracias a esta manta de apego, la bebé sentirá que no está sola cuando sus padres no estén cerca de ella
I am triple happy, because I am sharing with you, because I have resumed the weaving and because this result will be the company of a baby of love. Thanks to this attachment blanket, the baby will feel that she is not alone when her parents are not near her.
