WELCOME TO MY BLOG

A few days ago, my sister and I were visiting some stores in the city center and comparing prices on cheap ladies' clothes, and as a great saver and lover of offers, I always try to buy, as my older sister said, that contains the "3B", good, nice and cheap. After so much walking, we got some super deals on flannels, even though the sizes were scarce, we were able to get some of our own, although the colors weren't abundant either, but they had the 3B. Good fabrics, the traditional cut of flannels and best of all, at a great price. Immediately, I chose 3 flannels of my size and one a little bigger, I didn't care that it would be loose but it was within the budget and in the offer that the store offered, it was 4 flannels for 10$. When we got home, I came up with the idea of making some details so that they would not look so simple and I started looking for ideas on the internet that would adapt to my tastes and needs and that at the same time did not require many materials and had them in House. So that's how I hatched this idea. Hope you like.

BIENVENIDOS A MI BLOG

MATERIALS

  • 1 flannel
  • Scraps of printed fabric
  • Red beads
  • Red beads
  • Red sequins
  • Red sewing thread
  • Needle
  • Pins
  • Butterfly pattern
  • Whiteboard
  • Scissors
  • Liquid silicone

MATERIALES

  • 1 franela
  • Retazos de tela estampada
  • Mostacillas rojas
  • Canutillos rojos
  • Lentejuelas rojas
  • Hilo de coser rojo
  • Aguja
  • Alfileres
  • Patrón de mariposa
  • Tiza
  • Tijera
  • Silicón líquido

STEP OF STEP

To make the appliqués I used a butterfly pattern and some scraps of fabric that I had at home. You can use any fabric you want, but if it is a fabric that does not fray, much better. For my design I made 3 butterfly appliques, with double fabric to reinforce it, since the fabric is a bit soft.

  • We take the pattern and the scraps of fabric and fold.
  • We fasten with the pins and cut very carefully so as not to damage the fabric.
  • We repeat again, until we get the 3 pairs of butterflies, for 3 appliqués.

PASO A PASO

Now we begin to work each pair of butterflies, we hold them with the pins to prevent them from moving. With the needle threaded with red thread, we begin to join them by making the buttonhole stitch. We repeat the operation with the two remaining butterfly pairs.

Now we make the detail, to give brightness and volume to the butterflies. For this I used red sequins and red beads for the central butterfly. And for the remaining two, I alternated sequins and beads with beads, since when I started the work, I did not take into account the amount of material. But they are still very beautiful.

Once the appliqués were ready, I placed them on the flannel. If you can tell, in the materials I placed the white flannel that was the initial idea of this project, but once I finished the appliqués and placed them on top, I didn't like it too much and decided to use the black flannel, since in it , the appliqués stood out much more.
I used a bit of silicone to fix the appliqués and prevent them from moving.

To make the antennas of the butterflies, I used 2 strands of red thread, with which I made the embroidery of the same, using the back stitch.

And the points of the antennas, I made the French point, which consists of passing or winding the strand of thread on the needle as many times as you want the size of the point and then inserting it into the fabric, trying not to squeeze so that it facilitates the insertion of the thread.

Once the antennas were ready, I proceeded to mark some oblique lines on the fabric to decorate and at the same time fix the butterflies with the same thread with which I was sewing the beads. I made this detail between butterflies, managing to highlight the design much more.

And so was my flannel. I must confess that it is my first embroidery on fabric. It was a bit complicated for me to handle the stitching when removing the needle, I also learned some new stitches in embroidery such as the French stitch. I hope you like it and although I know that it has some details, the important thing is the time that I was distracted and enjoyed learning. See you in the pro

Me gustó mucho

Saludos!

Muchas gracias, con pocos detalles podemos lograr grandes cambios. Me gustó mucho este trabajo.

This is an embroidery made with love. I love how it is designed my friend. It is simple yet elegant. Imlove to have patches like this in my clothes.

You know what when you have said that you were with your sister visiting some stores for the materials, I suddenly missed my sister. This is what we usually do when she was still alive. It always feels so good to be with our sisters.

Have a nice time my friend. Take care.
