Feliz inicio de semana amigos de Needleworkmonday. El 3 de agosto estuvo de cumpleaños Nro. 4 una de mis sobrinitas hermosas, a la que le encanta un vestido. Aunque para ese día no pude hacerlo ya que no tuve mucho tiempo para salir a comprar una tela que me gustara para ella, tenía pendiente ese detalle especial para hacer. Aprovechando que la celebración de su cumple tampoco pude ser el mismo día, tuve el tiempo de ir y comprar lo necesario para hacerle su vestido a esta princesa.
Happy start of the week Needleworkmonday friends. August 3rd was the 4th birthday of one of my beautiful nieces, who loves a dress. Although I couldn't make it for that day since I didn't have much time to go out and buy a fabric that I liked for her, I had pending that special detail to make. Taking advantage of the fact that the celebration of her birthday could not be the same day, I had the time to go and buy what I needed to make her dress for this princess.
Escogí una tela tipo organza estampada para la parte de la falda y una tipo raso para la parte superior. El modelo lo escogí en el momento de sentarme a coser prácticamente y es que en ocasiones somos muy indecisas en lo que queremos hacer. Bueno a mi me pasa muy seguido 😁.
I chose a printed organza fabric for the skirt and a satin fabric for the top. I chose the model at the moment I sat down to sew practically and is that sometimes we are very indecisive in what we want to do. Well, it happens to me very often 😁.
Otro detalle es que como quería que fuese sorpresa el regalo, no tenía medidas de ningún tipo, así que en una visita previa que les hice, con las manos la medí rápidamente, sobre todo el largo de la falda y el largo del talle y el resto lo hice al ojo por ciento como dice una amiga 😂. Con esto hice un rápido patrón, para luego cortar mis piezas.
Another detail is that as I wanted the gift to be a surprise, I had no measurements of any kind, so in a previous visit that I made, I measured it quickly with my hands, especially the length of the skirt and the length of the waist and the rest I did it by eye percent as a friend says 😂. With this I made a quick pattern, and then I cut my pieces.
Para la parte superior en tela de raso corté una pieza delantera y dos piezas traseras ya que le colocaría un cierre en la espalda, así mismo corté dos tiros para los hombros. Para la parte de la falda corté en organza un rectángulo bien ancho ya que la falda va risada y en esta tela también corté una tira que colocaré de adorno en forma de volado, en la parte de la blusa.
For the top in satin fabric I cut a front piece and two back pieces since I was going to put a zipper in the back, I also cut two straps for the shoulders. For the skirt I cut a wide rectangle in organza since the skirt is going to be ruffled and in this fabric I also cut a strip that I will use as a ruffle on the blouse.
Comencé a coser en la máquina haciendo dos pinzas en la cintura, tanto en la parte delantera como en las piezas de la espalda, esto para dar forma al vestido. Cosí las sisas de las mangas y uní por los costados la pieza delantera a las dos dos piezas de la espalda.
I started sewing on the machine making two darts at the waist, both on the front and on the back pieces, this to give shape to the dress. I sewed the armholes of the sleeves and joined the front piece to the two back pieces at the sides.
Luego tomé la pieza de la falda y la arruché en la parte de la cintura, como la tela es transparente corte una tela de forro en color negro y también la arruche en la cintura hasta dejarlas ambas del mismo ancho el cual debe coincidir con la cintura de la pieza de la parte superior del vestido.
Then I took the skirt piece and gathered it at the waist, as the fabric is transparent I cut a black lining fabric and also gathered it at the waist until they were both of the same width which should match the waist of the top piece of the dress.
Cosí entonces la pieza superior del vestido a la falda con su forro de una vez y luego le cosí el cierre en las piezas de la espalda.
I then sewed the top piece of the dress to the skirt with its lining all at once and then sewed the zipper on the back pieces.
Tomé la pieza en organza que utilizaría para adornar la parte superior y le hice un ruedo en toda su extensión, luego lo cosí a la parte de los hombros, dejando un canal para pasar una elástica delgada y hacer el volado que quería. Cosí las dos tiros que también van en los hombros.
I took the organza piece that I would use to embellish the top and made a ruffle all the way around it, then sewed it to the shoulder part, leaving a channel for a thin elastic to go through to make the ruffle I wanted. I sewed the two straps that also go on the shoulders.
Por último hice el ruedo tanto a la falda de organza como al forro de la misma, así como cosí una tira larga para colocarle en la cintura y que le hicieran su respectivo lazo al colocarle el vestido a la niña.
Finally, I made the hem of the organza skirt and the lining of the skirt, as well as sewed a long strip to place at the waist and to make the respective bow when I put the dress on the girl.
Terminé y como pueden ver el final ha quedado muy lindo.
I finished and as you can see the end has been very nice.
Al siguiente día fuimos a llevarle su presente a mi sobrinita y fue un dolor de cabeza para la madre de la niña, ya que llegamos muy temprano (11 am), ya que había un almuerzo previo al compartir y la niña desde que vio el vestido quiso que se lo colocaran y pues la madre estresada jajaa.
Ella disfrutó su vestido, su fiesta y fue feliz en su día especial y yo encantada porque nada como ver felices a nuestros niños.

The next day we went to take her present to my niece and it was a headache for the girl's mother, since we arrived very early (11 am), as there was a lunch before sharing and the girl since she saw the dress wanted to be placed and the mother was stressed hahaa.
She enjoyed her dress, her party and was happy on her special day and I was delighted because nothing like seeing our children happy.
